| Story Line | Peter Appleton (Jim Carrey) is an ambitious young screenwriter accused of being a communist in 1951. Fired from the studio he gets drunk, nearly killing himself and ending up washed up on the beaches of a small town called Lawson. Stricken with amnesia he's led to believe he is the missing son of the local cinema owner. And together Peter and his 'father' rebuild the Majestic. Along the way he falls back in love with his ex fiancé. Unfortunately, Peter's memory returns in time for the FBI to track him down. more » |
