oh gee............i'm sorry but i now know for sure i HATE country and Western music.........lol.........i'd rather listen to bagpipes......lol......
and he does nothing for me......i guess i prefer them a little more rock......a little wilder....... ![]() ![]() ![]() fluffy ![]() Fluffy
I used to really dislike it, but the genre has some of the most fantastic vocalists. Country has evolved, with a lot of artists getting mainstream attention and success. One of my favorite songs is "I'm in a Hurry" by Alabama. And Patsy Cline is a fave of mine. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

lol...........nope i can honestly say i loathe it and line dancing has to be the most torturous form of 'entertainment'.........lol...not only is the music dire but you have to make yourself look like a total prat.......lol......

For me, it's the artist...not neccessarily the genre.
I'm not an expert on country music...I don't listen to it except by accident, but Patsy Cline is a vocalist that it's hard to rival. I'm the same with jazz...I don't know a lot about it, but I've heard Billie Holliday and Etta James and others and am blown away by the emotion they convey. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

well when it comes to jazz i grew up surrounded with it, but i can't name you anything. I just know that i love traditional jazz......the new Orleans stuff............great fun, it gets everybody's feet tapping.......and for the likes of Miles Davis and co, or modern jazz, i like it too, but preferably in some dark, atmospheric jazz club..........and i love Big band swing...... Glen Miller etc...........wonderful stuff.....and who can forget the rat Pack??.......good ole Frankie.........
ahh..........they don't make em like they used to........lol fluffy ![]() Fluffy
I used to hate country music with a passion too, but I'm sick of listening to KIIS FM (hip hop and r&b basically, not my choice of music really) and I'm sick of KROQ (rock) and classical and The Wave (jazz) and I can't really find a station that plays the "oldies but goodies" they messed up 93.1 and made it EVERYTHING instead of good ol' classic rock, so I'm stuck listening to country now lol
Glenn Miller will ALWAYS be my #1, I love that man with a passion, his music is just amazing but he's a horrible actor lol (I have two of his movies) I've been to one OFFICIAL Glenn Miller Orchestra concert, I was pretty much the only one there under 40 lol everyone else was gray haired or bald but I was so excited to be there lol I'm going to another concert of theirs on April 13th, if you EVER get to go to a concert of theirs do it! They're awesome and they have the exact rythem and tones of Glenn, in other words they're accurate to a T... but who can blame them as they are descendants of the original band back in the 40's, ok enough about Glenn lol but yes, he is awesome ![]() Hey Fluffy, I saw the Rat Pack about a month ago in Hermosa Beach, they sounded almost exactly like them, especially Sammy, they say they're not imitating them, just keeping them alive (like Jim in MOTM) and they were really really good and really funny, they even look like them, pretty weird ~*~J.T. i'd LOVE to go to those sorts of gigs..........i'd do my hair in the 40's rolls and wear red lipstick, round toed heels and a peplum skirt

His voice is miles deeper than I was expecting, and it made me laugh.
I HATE Country with a passion, and I'm a total music junkie! It's the only type of music I can't stand. It just makes me laugh hysterically, and I don't know why! I'm a total Jazz nut, I love it! Anything with a Saxophone, and a good beat, and I'm listening. I listen to Rock, Metal and Grunge the most, though. Muse - 10, 11, 14, 22 & 23 November 2006
Muse - Wembley Stadium - 16 & 17 June 2007 Muse - Royal Albert Hall - 12 April 2008 Muse - 10 November 2009 & 13 November 2009 Muse - 11 September 2010
I laughed when I saw his pic too LOL very strange... oh and some of my favorite bands are rock bands

As a city girl I move to the valley for a more country life. I started to se someone who was 'country' incarnate, and I began to listen to country music. Never gave country music much thought, but when your surrounded by rodeos, cows and agriculture, you kinda get that feelin. I secretly began to like Garth Brooks..... Thunder Rolls. But my short country life lasted about two years and back to the city. Hmm. Music for me is how my soul if feeling at the time. Now, I'm just content with whats on the radio, some movie soundtrack DVDs and what ever is my fancy for the moment.
that's kind of how I am wonderbunny, lead by my soul, but Glenn Miller and classic rock are always deep inside me, but right now, I love me some cowboy yeehaw!! LOL can't believe I said that, yikes

JT...you're in really good company. I like some country, too. When it boils down to it, it's all just MUSIC...and it's a beautiful thing.
I like it when I get in the car and the "right" song comes on, the one I needed to hear and think about, but didn't know it. "When in doubt, tell the truth."
Mark Twain
I took my Nana to see them in Maryland. They were great. "When in doubt, tell the truth."
