FanFest Sonic 2 Panel
21 Feb 2022 By Eva Araújo (Web correspondent)
IGN is an American video game and entertainment media website operated by IGN Entertainment Inc. They recently streamed a FanFest that included a panel with the cast and director of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2".
The panel was via zoom call and Jeff Fowler (the movie director), Ben Schwartz (Sonic), Colleen O'Shaughnessey (Tails) and James Marsden (Tom) were the only ones from the movie, present. They answered some fan questions about the journey of Sonic from the first movie to the second one.
The host Narz also asked if there was going to be a third movie and Jeff Fowler said that "Nothing would make me happier we have such a great time making these movies, I think everyone just loves the world, loves the characters but right now we're just, you know, we're kind of going one movie at a time so fingers crossed…"
At the end of the panel we got a treat. Both actors who play the villains in the movie, Idris Elba (Knuckles) and Jim Carrey (Dr. Ivo Robotnik) answers a fan question each. They couldn't be present at the panel but we are glad they still wanted to be part of it.

Jim also answered a question about why Robotnik was a good fit character for him to play. Jim answered: "I think Robotnik is the perfect fit for me because I am a master of playing people who are filled with self-loathing and who compensate for it with a veneer of total confidence and even an air of superiority and so when I get that call I'll be there. Yes Sir. I'll be in the way. Bad guys yell when they're being thwarted. I'll be in the way kids laugh when they want a new Jim Carrey movie and they hear Sonic 2's on the tv. And when the people are eating the popcorn they made and playing video games in the circle of friends they built online. I'll be there too. Scene."

We love this man! Can't wait for Sonic 2!
