Memorable Moment: MTV's Jim Carrey Uncensored
26 Dec 2016

By Lucas Allen (Web correspondent)

Now here’s a Christmas gift for all Jim Carrey fans alike.

Back in 2000 to promote his blockbuster hit "How the Grinch Stole Christmas", Jim sat down with then-MTV correspondent Chris Connelly for an hour-long retrospective on appearing in various specials over the years with the once-music channel. MTV’s Jim Carrey Uncensored looks back at the actor’s most hilarious moments for the network’s movie specials and award shows.

Afterwards, he goes on to discuss working on Ron Howard’s big screen version of Dr. Seuss’ beloved children’s book. He talks about the painful process of being “buried alive” in Rick Baker’s Oscar-winning makeup design, his appeal on playing the character, and singing some of the movie’s songs.

The following segments in this special includes:

1. Jim going around Hollywood for the Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls Movie Special
2. Suffering from a cold in the Man on the Moon Movie Special
3. Jim vs. Bears in both The Cable Guy and Liar, Liar Movie Specials
4. His excellent Charlton Heston impression in The Truman Show Movie Special
5. Tearing the set down in the Me, Myself & Irene Movie Special
6. Various MTV Award appearances
7. Starring as The Grinch

In between those segments is Jim’s usual interview antics with Connelly including playing with a fake beard. It’s always a worthwhile trip down memory lane looking at these interview moments that shows the actor’s extraordinary talents beyond the big screen.
