"The Bad Batch" Talented Director
21 Mar 2015

By Eva Araújo (Web correspondent)

Nothing excites fans more than to know a new project is coming up. As we previously reported Jim Carrey will play a role in a new project called "The Bad Batch".

Ana Lily Amirpour is both the writer and director of this very high expected movie.

She described the movie last year as "Road Warrior meets Pretty in Pink with a dope soundtrack." She also said "It's going to be really weird and romantic and also very violent," kind of like "if El Topo and Dirty Dancing had a baby."

Ana became known after her feature film debut, "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night", a self-described "Iranian Vampire Spaghetti Western" that made its debut at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014, and which was also based on a previous short film she wrote and directed with the same title, which won 'Best Short Film' at the 2012 Noor Iranian Film Festival.

Her work on the movie gave her the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Director. It also gave her a lot of attention after its screenning in Sundance.

She won a lot of awards in several festivals and has been described as 'the next Tarantino'.

Jim Carrey has showed support before with directors whose carrers have been taking the first baby steps and since all the movies he has done with them have been amazing, we are very excited about this and we can't wait to see Jim back in the theaters!

As usual we, at JCO will keep you updated as more bites of news come.
