Awesome 2014 - Happy New Year of 2015!
31 Dec 2014 By Eva Araújo (Web correspondent)
Every time a year ends we get that feeling of unexplainable nostalgia. We think about the good, the bad and the memories float like a boat on water.
This has been an amazing year for Jim Carrey and his fans.
Right at the beginning of the year we got to see Jim present an award at the Golden Globes and two months later he also presented a tribute for Animation at the Oscars. As usual he was funny and entertaining.
In February, Jim got to "playfight" with an unlikely person: The 14th Dalai Lama. It was an event filled with celebrities who couldn't resist hearing the wise words of His Holiness. He also honored Rick Rubin through another event held by the David Lynch Foundation.
The man had a busy year!
On the second trimester of the year Jim met The First Family of The United States Of America, Barack and Michelle Obama, at the annual White House Easter Egg Rolling.
He and his daughter Jane Carrey sang the songs from Roland and introduced the book "How Roland Rolls" to the kids who were present at the White House. The book itself got a second award this year by winning a Silver Benjamin Franklin Award for cover design in the children's/young adult category.
On May of this year though, Jim touched a lot of heart when he gave his speech at the Maharishi University, about his story and what he believes in. Not only he made us all think about our lives but he also presented with the honorary degree of Doctor of Fine Arts Honoris Causa, in recognition of his significant lifetime achievements as a world-renowned comedian and actor, artist, author and philanthropist by The University Board of Trustees.
The way to pay tribute to someone is when that person is alive to see it and feel it. We at JCO understand that more than anything so we were very happy to see that Jim got another honor this year by his home country Canada. Now you can mail Jim Carrey… or better yet, a stamp with his face on it.
In October we got to see Jim in Saturday Night Live for the third time! He nailed the episode and introduces us with a full version of the song Pecan Pie which two weeks later was available for download on iTunes!
But we have to admit that of all the news, the most awaited of them all, is the premiere of "Dumb and Dumber To", November 14th, 20 years later than the original movie!
The movie has grossed $145 million so far and still counting!
Because of it both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were in several talk shows to promote it! As Jim has accustomed us… we got a lot of laughs.
First he went to David Letterman to talk "Dumb" but no interview can be bitten by the one he did on Jimmy Kimmel. Same questions but with a twist since Jim started the show giving people free haircuts as he stand in the streets of New York.
On Ellen DeGeneres he showed us a bit of his painting art by making a drawing on the floor of the set of the show. A masterpiece, no doubt!
He also talked to Howard Stern for the third time in his career and in a long time. Jim was very candid in this interview and we got to learn more about him. Other talkshows included Today Show and MTV Video Music Awards.
Finally Jim and Jeff went to the European Press tour to England and France to continue the promotion of "Dumb and Dumber To". In London, where they stayed the most, they went to several Radio shows to talk about the movie. But of the shows, the most popular ones are The Graham Norton Show and Good Morning Britain. In the Graham Norton he told us more about how it was to shoot the Grinch, especially the make up process, and also was very honest about what happen in his life and why he got where he got.
They both got to watch a live football (soccer) match between Arsenal and Manchester United.
The year may be coming to an end but it seems to us, Jim isn't stopping anytime soon.
With new projects coming up, we are very excited about 2015!
We have faith that 2015 will be an amazing year so we, at JCO, want to wish Jim Carrey (and his family) and all the members and guest here:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
That 2015 bring you all the love, happiness and joy of the world!
Thank you for stopping by!
We at JCO will continue to keep you updated for many more years!
