Christmas Fever
03 Nov 2009 By Nicola West (Editor/Writer (UK))
Doing a rather impressive Kenny Rogers impression, bearded Jim Carrey hit the streets of London tonight to switch on the Christmas lights at Oxford Circus. Thousands flocked to the area to see him, accompanied by fellow stars and musicians who put on a memorable show to celebrate 50 years of the Oxford St Christmas lights.
Across town Colin Firth did the switch on in Regents St and Bob Hoskins and Andrea Bocelli did the honours at the St Pauls Cathedral switch on. This was followed by a record breaking mass Christmas carol 'sing-a-long' with over 40,000 taking part...
An astounded Jim twittered-
"holy crap London!
that was incredible. about 40 thousand people in the street. getting' along fine!
"peace on earth! good will toward men!"
~ Jim Carrey
Jim and Jenny then made their way to a mobbed Leicester Square for the world premiere of "Disney's A Christmas Carol". Click on the picture below for the first photos to come in..
