Better U Foundation and charity updates
30 Sep 2008

By Nicola West (Editor/Writer (UK))

Known primarily as an award winning actor, comedian, writer, producer and Hollywood 'Big Gun', more recently Jim Carrey added philanthropist to his ever expanding list of achievements.

Many of you may have seen him recently on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' supporting his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy as she discussed her latest book 'Mother Warriors', to which he contributed a heartfelt chapter.

Together they both sit on the board of the charity 'Generation Rescue', defined as-
"An international movement of scientists, physicians and parent-volunteers researching the causes and treatments for autism and mentoring thousands of families in recovering their children from autism."
During the summer they took on Washington DC in their 'Green our Vaccines' march, raising public awareness of the potentially toxic additives in childhood vaccines.

But it doesn't stop there.

Recently Jim Carrey himself launched a website dedicated to his charity 'Better U Foundation'. Working on a Global level the charity aims to support and provide clean water initiatives through 'Life Straw', cheap wheelchairs for the disabled, educating farmers in poor areas and at home supporting Generation Rescue.
Based on a very simple, compassionate set of core values, the charity regards collaboration as the key element to implement change. The sharing of ideas and the breaking down of barriers are key motivators behind Better U Foundation's goals.
