2021 started with filming of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" on March 15 and lasted until June. The rest of the year was quiet for Jim and due to the continuing of the Covid-19 pandemic not much happen.
 2022 started with a surprise collaboration between The Weeknd and Jim Carrey. Both artists have become friends in the last few years and the singer invited Jim to be part of his new album. The album was launched on January 28th and it features 3 songs with Jim's voice. He is providing a radio station host-style voiceover on them, Jim also provided his voice in some of the music videos for the songs in the album. And in another music video for 'Out Of Time' we got to see Jim actually be in the video as a mysterious doctor character. On January 17th Jim Carrey celebrated his 60th birthday. He shared a video on his Twitter account joking about. Unfortunately, on January 9th, comedian and actor Bob Saget passed away. As a tribute to him many friends gathered at "The Comedy Store" for a special tribute that was recorded January 30th and aired on Netflix, in June. February 13th marked another great moment. During the Super Bowl a new commercial for the brand Verizon aired and Jim reprised his role as the Cable Guy, 25 years later, in it. The ad starts with the Cable Guy wearing his blue jumpsuit, knocking on someone's door to install cable. But the lady who answers completely dismissed him by saying she has "Verizon 5G Internet". He has a hard time believing she can have internet without miles of cable but she confirms it and then he ask to see it. She let him inside the house where he see the white cube rooter. The Cable guy analyses it and keep asking a lot of question that she answer quickly, dismissing him completely. At the end he seems convinced and says he will return to check it again the following day. The lady tells him no, but he pretends not to be hearing it and leave the house, knocking on the next apartment door, yelling: "Caaaable Guy!" On April 8th, "Sonic The Hedgehog 2" premiered. It was a huge box office success, breaking records. It became his biggest premiere opening in his career. Become the highest-grossing game-based movie ever in USA by passing the $400 million mark at the global box office. During the press junket for Sonic 2 he announced he would retire from acting, unless a special movie project appears.  During the Summer Jim Carrey also joined the NFT market, not only by buying his first NFT but creating his first one to sell called "Sunshower", which he sold through auction a week later. He also promoted it on Twitter. Since he has had another up for auction. On a different platform he also make NFT's but under the alias String Bean. In a statement Jim explained his alias. People called me Jimmy-Gene The String Bean because of my long thin, and abnormally flexible physique. The year isn't over yet and we are hopeful for future projects which may include a "Sonic The Hedgehog 3", since Jim already showed interested in doing another one.
