The difference between cats & dogs... burp
I guess it depends on the person. I happen to be a dog person. They are pretty dependable and it doesn't take much as they are so easy going. Unfortunately I have had a couple that weren't compatible without our family and had to be returned to the shelter. They needed a farm type setting because they loved to chew, destroy, and dig. I couldn't keep up with them. But then we adopted Chewy, chocolate lab, and she was he biggest lap dog I ever owned. I trusted her instinct. We had two cats and the got along pretty wonderfullly. The cats, well. It was always on their time... Dogs, just want to be with you, cats are a different breed entirely. So, who are you?
i'm both...........i have 2 cats........but they were the idea of my ex....i really wanted to wait until i could have a dog.........but i love them to bits.........but i still long for a small, fat, scruffy little terrier type of dog......lol....small enough to go places with you but a strong and hardy breed...........like Poochy i guess..........lol

i like cats but i am more of a dog lover. they are fun to play w/ and like to keep active. plus i have a dog. he is a black chow chow and i love him to death. i also had another dog that was a mix of a lot of breeds but we had to get rid of him because he was too violent b/c he was abused by his previous owners.

My nephew just called me out of the blue. I LOVE when he does that. We were talking pets and he's getting a Siberian Huskie pup. I tried to convince him to get a dog from the pound....but he's got this idea that he wants a Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix.
Anyway, I told him I was thinking about a bird (a cockateil)....He said, "You should just go get yourself an African Grey like Pepper."
Pepper HATED my Dad, but loved me and he had a vocab of over 120 words. He'd say whole sentences. Make up numbers and mimic the general chatter of the hardware store.
After we came back from overseas, some friends kept Pepper for us. They decided to take in an exchange student from Belgium. With a sliding door to the basement OPEN, he got Pepper out and Pepper reached down and bit him and he basically threw the bird out the window. He hadn't been clipped, so he got aloft and into a tree.
The friends called us from 2 hours away (we were near DC, they were in West Virginia) and told us. I BEGGED my dad to take me there while they still knew where Pepper was, (up a tree 300 yards from the house)
but he insisted it wouldn't do any good. And the next day Pepper went someplace they couldn't find him.
The main gist of my story is: I may be less than fond of cats, and I may like dogs, but the birds (Dutch and Pepper) were excellent friends of mine when I was little, and that's why I really want a nice hand-fed cockateil for a pet.

i am mostly a dog person, i love cats too but they sometimes bother
me, i have bad allegies there fur makes me sneese and makes my
eyes water, my sister had a cat one time and whenever i got around it
i had a hard time breathing. but dogs don't bother me to much. at the
moment i have 4 dogs. 3 are mix breed and the fourth is a dachshund.
there names are maggie, teddy, charlie, and penny. i have always had
a lot of animals in my live ever since i was born, i used to say that i wanted to be like ace and be a animal dective,
i have had dogs, cats, fish, turtles, hamsters, about the only thing i have
not had was a bird my mom is scaried of them, she got pecked by a bunch of birds when she was little. at the moment i have a fish it is an african fighter fish also called a betta and two african clawed frogs there both albino.
