Re: The picsAhhh! I soooo love the second and last pics!

I'm sooo gonna have to see if I can find this magazine somewhere!

Re: The picsThat yellow photo is dee-licious!! **swoon**

The scan look fine. The problem with scanning magazines is the paper they use is thin and printed on both sides, so when the scanner light scans the page sometimes the back side bleeds through. Plus the print and photos are usually a series of dots, called half-tone. Maybe that's why you are having such a hard time getting a clear scan.

Thanks so much for sharing them!

Re: The picsAnother reason could be that the book is to big. 10 x 13 inches is pretty big for a magazine.

Re: The picsCotton, I think the problem is maybe that you could be scanning the pages on a lower dpi. Try scanning it at around 300dpi... that will make it come out around 3 times larger than it actually is. But once you've scanned it, don't resize it. That way it should stay large. Also if you're scanning via Photoshop, there's usually a little box you can tick in the scanner page that is for magazines.

Edited by: Belbee at: 5/24/04 3:54 am

Re: Thanks
Quote:
Did you ever love someone so much that you considered suicide at the end of the relationship? I never considered anything like that but I definitely got to the point in love where I got like, 'It's okay if I go to sleep and don't wake up in the morning.' You know what I mean? Because I was in so much pain? But that is the extent of my suffering and I did wake up in the morning. -Jim Carrey

Quote:
Thanks, cotton, for all your effort! The highlights from the interview were interesting. At least I was right about the suicide question, . . .

yeah, i've done the same thing. i've always felt that way. "I'm just gonna go to sleep and never wake up. everything will be so much better that way! people won't have to deal with me."

but today (May 26,2004) I learned a lesson. It would be bad to commit suicide. My dad's youngest brother (that would make him my uncle) committed suicide at 5 this morning. it's been a sad day.

for those of you who pray, please pray for his 17 year old daughter, his wife, his 30 something year old daughter, his friends and relatives, my dad, my dad's sister and brother who are still living, my dad's mother (who is still living; yes she outlived her youngest son) and everyone else who loved my late uncle. later!

Edited by: carreypunkrawker at: 6/18/04 4:54 pm

Re: I am sorry to hear about your lossVery sorry here too, Peggy. It's such a shocking thing that leaves people so helpless. Big hug to you and your family.

I've had my share with people committing suicide too, I know what effect it has on loved ones. It's terrible.
cableclair

www.soiledmypants.com<-- my site
Failure isn't failure unless you give up...

Re: I am sorry to hear about your lossthanks. it's a sad thing. i've had people in my life commit suicide too. it sucks. and yet, still after awhile I think about it too. yuck. well, thanks for your condolences and prayers. we need it right now. thanks again!

Peggy

Re: I am sorry to hear about your lossalso, big hug back to ya clair.

xoxo,
Peggy

Speechless! It's hard to know what to say to give comfort at this time. I think most people who think about suicide eventually think about the people they leave behind and then change their mind. Sometimes though life gets so hard, that's why we all need each other, to give kind and loving words.
Your right, big hug and hope.

Re: Speechless!OMG, I'm so sorry about your loss Peggy. *hugs* I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts. I can't imagine what that's like, suicide is such a horrible horrible thing.

Re: Speechless!Oh and Cotton, I'm getting this magazine sent to me this week by a friend of mine so I'll see if my scanner works anybetter with it. Hopefully it will arrive here next week. *fingers crossed*
