Macrame. In the 70's SOMEONE in your family was doing it and using it for gifts, admit it...

...and you'd open a box at Christmas and there would be this HIDEOUS macrame hanging plant holder.

I've made several of them and given them as gifts, not 70's more like 80's I'm always a little behind things.

Oh yes....it was good only for making Barbie clothes.

R.E. the macrame

Sorry Jayne, I'm sure you did understated and tasteful macrame.

I remember the Christmas that my mom (a terrible liar)...opened a box from one of her daughters in law...and pulls out this 6 foot plant stand embellished with speckled blue ceramic butterflies. "Fner fner...um....fnuh....wow....this is REALLY pretty. It probably took you a long time to make it. Thank you!"

Bear in mind, no room in our house was blue...so it was destined to clash and because it was a gift from someone who frequently came over unnanounced she HAD to hang it someplace.

Do what I do....although it's a little bittersweet because it was my Dad's pastime and I think of him when I do it.

Go to the local antiques/collectibles place with a bunch of different dealers.

Yesterday I saw little red trike...

There are so many things that just make you laugh cause they take you back.

Sadly, I could never do the macrame thing. My art teacher thought it would be a good project for our class, but I just couldn't make it work.

Macrame owls... ooooooweeee! That's an amusing thing to collect.

I find myself wondering how old Bill is and whether or not he's married.

Because if he dates...
