My life is funny. Is everyone's life funny?

Here is where you discuss everything under the sun, just keep it clean.

ok.............this isn't funny so much as just plain sick.....lol

but when i was a little girl.......from 3 up.....my mum used to, on a regular basis, pretend to die right in fron of my very eyes......lol
She would literally go into spasm ....make a few dying sounds then fall down twitching...........eyes glassy and no signs of life..............i would literally go hysterical............and she'd keep it up for a good few minutes until she thought i was going to cry myself physically sick......

This went on for a few years...you'd think i'd learn but she was really realistic and crafty with it.....lol..............it was like a battle of wits....

i know it's sick sounding but we've had a few giggles remembering it.......

One time when my nephew was little he came home from school and said that the boys were talking about their"family jewels" and my Grandmother turned around and said that they shouldn't be talking about things like that or somebody will rob them.

You'll laugh at the photos in a couple of years we've all got them......

I've been a goth, a hippie, a 'trendy'...(ancient British term for dressing in suits and dancing to early House music...a great look!!)....and a Rockabilly.......that was the most fun......i dressed as though it were 1953.........i had the pony-tail with the quiff at the front......the starched petticoats and big skirts..........ankle socks, hoop earings and 50's make up...y'know red lippy and black winged eyeliner..............and we listened to Elvis and the Cramps and Jived............it was SO MUCH FUN.................and the innocent 50's look was a serious 'pulling' look.............AAAhhh..........the 'good ole days'.......

bring back the 80's..............sigh.....

fluffy

I always think that I am from the 50's.
I totaly LOVE that look back then-so sensual and elegant!

you know i actually forgot the best look of all............that came between the 'trendy and the Rockabilly'..........
i tried to look like a 50's film star..........(yeah really....lol  )....i wore suits with nipped in waists and really pointed stilletto heels....my hair was all hairpinned into a roll..........
but the best bit was the make up.............it had to be flawless.....ivory white complexion......perfectly applied red lipstick.....a pale cream on the eyelids and the perfect winged black eyeliner....i spent hours doing it.... ................
oh and seamed stockings...............i managed to find a place which sold them...........

I probably looked awful but i was aiming for a sort of Marilyn Monroe look.....lol
In fact Deeta von Teese is doing it to perfection at the moment.....i was kinda like a blonde version..........only with clothes on......
I even smoked for 6 months just so i could perfect that film star look and i used to pose with a silver ciggarette case and long gloves.......
i had the gold compact too.....i'd powder my nose...........lol

oh maaan!!!.................i thought i looked gorgeous.....mega lol

It's not the look of the 50's that I yearn for. It's the innocence. I have said in the past that I wish I'd lived then. Of course, then people have to point out that it really WASN'T the best time because there was segregation and people were "too restrained". They have some valid points, still...I think it was a great era.

She's still lovely. She has beautiful hair. She wore it long and in a bun from the time my dad was a baby. About a year ago, I guess she was feeling daring in her dotage and, after 60+ years of bun, she got it cut short. And the natural marcel waves came back. It's still red, too.

On the mom scaring you theme: I remember going through the phase of childhood where you think it's really roaringly funny to sneak up on people and say "Boo!" and watch them jump.

I did it to my mom exactly ONCE.

She was a nurse and she sat me down and told me that if I did that to her, I could literally make her heart stop and kill her. And anyone else I did it to. I completely believed it.

Who wants to be responsible for stopping someone's heart.

I've never snuck up on anyone since.

I still am lost in the 50's. I love rockabilly style, been doing it for years and haven't quit yet. Hot Rods and Greaser Boys, GRRRRRR!!!!

I found this site by accident today. Maybe someone ought to start dressing up their mice in sassy outfits!

I honestly had to close it because I'm laughing too hard. I laughed so hard I cried and I couldn't see the screen. I will look more tomorrow.

Hahahahaha!!! ha.. haha.. Sorry. Just laughing at your lives. My life is pretty funny. Just recently I fell into a laughing spasm.

Ok my mom wanted to go over some spelling test words with me, but I was soo tired I was about to fall asleep. So just as I was drifting off after 10 list words she started she started wacking me with the book on my cheek! So I was giggling.. and giggling.. and the sleepy giggle was so weird I started laughing. The laugh got louder and stranger until I had different 'episodes' of laughing!! Mom dragged me into her big bedroom so I could rest and quit this laughing, but soon I started CRYING and laughing. This hysterical side splitting laughter was was insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Her pillow was soaking wet with laughing/crying tears, and I could hardly see even. 30 minutes later I ended the spasms... that was fun.

And there are some times I feel like a total ditz. Just recently I woke up and hit my left side 3 times on furniture before getting to the kitchen. I decided I wanted oatmeal, so for some reason I got out this plate and a fork and a napkin. Don't ask me...

And another time at camp a few weeks ago, my friend and I were alone in the cabin (a recipe for disaster) and she had this bottle of water. As soon as she was about to swallow I... couldn't help it... I told a joke. She scrunched her cheeks together like she couldn't swallow, and I TRYED to quit making her laugh- but she spit it out all over me!! THAT'S NOT ALL. 3 spits later I had my shower towel and hand towel ready for each sip of water. Once I just sat there without facial expression, and she STILL spit on me! "WHO AM I, SEINFELD?!" I shouted at her, soaked with spitty water. She spit again. Poor girl never quenched her thirst..

I think maybe at the age of 13, you laugh at everything. And lately everyone's been laughing at me. So I came up with this screenname. :P

I remember those! They usually happened in Sunday school because this kid named Donnie was so funny...and we weren't supposed to be laughing, so I'd laugh harder. Donnie's a cop now. He's not as funny anymore, but still a nice guy.

I went back to the squirrel site for some chuckles. It's even funnier to me because my brothers rescued a baby squirrel out of a felled tree when they were little and it lived. It became a pet named Herky. I don't remember Herky, but there's a picture of me with 13 stiches in my eyebrow and Herky on my shoulder. (I fell off the bunk bed.) I was very little and Herky started to become kind of aggressive apparently. One night he bit a chunk out of the windowsill. My parents decided to give him to a man who had a few other squirrels because they were afraid he'd take a chunk out of me. As far as I know, no one ever put Herky in a costume.
