Why isn’t Church classified as an essential Service?

Postby Canadian Jayne » Wed May 19, 2021 7:56 am

Everyone was still allowed to buy alcohol
But couldn’t go 2 church
I understand distancing
But there are certain social camaraderie
That helps people mentally and spiritually
I still go to Church via online
But it is not the same
Social distancingis really the only
Option we have at this time but
As more people are vaccinated and the
Weather warms up
Outside gatherings for Church with
Masks on. Possible gloves
I always wondered why some
People in the old days wore scarves and gloves
Maybe it was for health reasons
Past plagues preventatives passed down from
Generation to generation

In the 1800’s they had outdoor services
Revival meetings
Even Jesus taught the people outside
The Bible and
Book of Mormon tell of outside
Gatherings
History is just repeating
People in the past had 2 cope
And succeeded somehow
So will we
But God must be in the equation
As we recognize Him
So He will recognize us
It’s never easy but we
Sure learn something every time

Song is called
Gospel First Nation
I love watching or listening to Church outside
It’s like nature is on your shoulder
Don’t feel confined to a box
Can appreciate all the
Earths beauty as u
Listen to uplifting music
It’s like you take freedom
Within
To outside in God’s country
Everything is growing
Now
Leaves. Flowers berries
Smells are amazing

Even if I am allergic reaction o most
Still love being out there in
A light Rain
Watching tiny Waterfalls
Fish jumping
I was taking a video of a crane
Suddenly a fish jumped up
Right in front of me
When I put it in slo motion
I could pause the fish
As it looked at me face on
It is so
Hillarious

As corn starts to grow
It reminds me of Palmyra, New York
Many years ago
We would pack up kids, tents, coolers
And trek South
Stop at Niagara Falls then on to the
Finger Lakes Region in the
Middle of July then see
Palmyra Pageant an amazing hillside
Production about “Christ in America”
I felt saddened when it was announced that
The Production would end
I haven’t been through the States since
9/11 happened, it’s been almost 10 years
But then I found out it was recorded in 2019

I eagerly awaited to see when
I could watch it on lds.org
Alas it was on an evening when
I was working and wouldn’t
Be shown again for a few
Weeks but
It came out sooner than
Expected
It brought back so many great
Memories
I so love Palmyra and
When I was doing family research
It turned out some of my family actually
Lived in the area prior to 1830
I had unknowingly walked in the
footsteps Of my ancestors

My confusion is where
Our government decided to legalize marijuana
And only charge a buck a beer
But
Leaves God out of the mix
As essential
Whereas beer and mind numbing drugs
Seem essential
I do understand some meds are for pain
But people also need a spiritual boost and
And in my opinion
Church is a type of culture and it
Is essential to many peoples
Happiness
If COVID comes back as it just may. I’d like to SEE

I know COVID is not really away
Here in Canada but it’s sorta
In stasis since many have
Opted for the vaccine
Which I think is fantastic
We are still masking inside
And often outside in big crowds
Masks probably won’t go
Away for awhile
Some Choose not to wear them after
Having 2 shots but I’d rather
Be safe
Than sorry
I know people who can’t due 2 health reasons
And some are afraid of the backdraft of taking
The shot
