Variety reports that Brett Dahl will oversee the project for Relativity. He’s also attached to help out with upcoming Jim Carrey comedy Loomis Fargo from director Jared Hess.

Or Andy Kaufman and yet he did everything he could to look like him and he was succeeded...

That's the whole point, isn't it. Beside the fact that Carrey could immitate everything with his face and he actually looked like him in the first place, they made hem look like Kaufman. With Phillip Morris that wasn't the case at all. Nobody bothers, cause nobody knows Morris. I guess they can do the same thing with the Loomis-guy. Doesn't matter Jim doesn't look like him, so it wouldn't matter if it's suddenly is played by Zach Gelflingthing.

I was thinking the same thing, Jim Carrey 85 . I hope they will not wait until next summer to shoot Ricky. Jeff Bushell, the writer, said recently on twiter that the status of the movie is ''casting'' so... i think it's possible a start date for next february or march.

Most likely the conflict is Ricky. So that's that, this is a cancelled project now.

What could have been: teaser-trailer for Jim's former project Loomis Fargo (which is now Masterminds). I'm not impressed, but it looks...decent

To me it feels like it was the right project for Jim, it's clear Zach replaced him. The part demands someone like Carrey to bring the fun. And I believe Wiig would be a good choice to star next to him.

Anyway, it didn't happen, so ... Excited for new things. And I would like to see Masterminds too, sometime.
