Marriage and being prepared for it-A Big Step

Postby Canadian Jayne » Wed Apr 04, 2012 7:27 pm

I know their are rumours of marriage for Jim & ?

That made me think that I wish I had been more prepared
before taking that big step....
What I wish that I had seen or known before I was married

I wish the movie "Fireproof" had been out then.

I wish I had really understood that person(past, present&Future goals)

I wish I had more confidence in myself that I would have
found the right someone even if I had to wait a long time

What do you wish you had doen before taking the Big Step?

I don'ty believe in marriage but I do believe in love.
My parents are married but I can see that love faded away...
I don't wanna get married.

I wanna love someone and be loved. It has to be with someone you feel comfortable being yourself with.
I'm a guardian of the spark...
I'm a God damn and proud good fan... and I love it! = )>

I do believe in marriage but I also
sometimes feel like
a person is continually
banging themselves against a brick wall

I did not see in my parents a good marriage relationship
too much friction, I think they did the best the knew how,
but unless you see and are around a good family relationship
I don't think a person really knows what it is.

Relationships are like a job,
you have to continually work at it,
develope new skills, communicate,
empathise, understand,assist, teach, forgive....(we are
all subject to error) ... the list goes on and on and on.

And the next day you start over and do the same thing
and there are always variables.

So I'm still learning, perhaps someday I'll eventually
understand what a good marriage relationship is,
hopefully before I even consider it again.

Like Jim, I've been in 2 and
hopefully divorced from the 2nd
soon(knock on wood)
Relationships are never easy, but sometimes worth it.
