by EvaAraujo » Sat Jun 04, 2011 1:15 am
Hello everybody! I just came across this article in a website and aparently Jim is planing a sequel to both "Bruce Almighty" and "Dumb & Dumber". I wouldn't pay attention to this if it was quote from Jim Carrey itself... Check it out: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=78391I can't for the video!

Jim himself said this? How reliable is this site? Does this mean he'll be involved producing/writing them as well as starring in them? Will Tom Shadyac come out of this weird "hating the industry, living in a trailer" phase of his life to return to direct a sequel? Wow. So many questions, so little answers.

lol............i think the keyword there is 'maybe'.......Jim might just be having a wee bit of naughty fun there..........lol..........having said that, enough time has passed to make the films a credible possibility.......but Jim would have to be heavily involved in the writing and the critics would be waiting to destroy the films..........

correct me if I am wrong cause I know I am a bit slow but it does say he "teased" about it. Which means he made fun of it. No? Check out the Jonathon Ross interview from 2003 and you will see he made fun of it there too.

Yes. Jim said that. Which for me is what makes me believe it but the video hasn't been post so we have to wait to really see it. I have no ideia but since he has always been involved when it comes to comedies I guess that answer would be yes.

Again. You're all probable very right. We just really have to waity for the darn video interview. Only then we will know for sure how serious he was. Altought, to me, as long as we see him soon I really don't care what movie he does. They are always great!

Jim Carrey has said he would be keen to appear in sequels of Dumb And Dumber and Bruce Almighty. The Hollywood star revealed he's been in talks about "maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about". Speaking to Comingsoon.net, Carrey commented: "There's Bruce Almighty and we're talking about maybe another Dumb And Dumber. The latter, which saw him star alongside Jeff Daniels, was a breakout role for Carrey in 1994. Meanwhile, 2003's Bruce Almighty paired him with Jennifer Aniston. There have already been quasi-sequels to both films which did not feature Carrey - Steve Carell starred in 2007 spin-off Evan Almighty. A Dumb And Dumber prequel, When Harry Met Lloyd, was released in 2007. Carrey's latest film role is in the adaptation of children's book Mr Popper's Penguins, which is due to be released in the US on June 17 and the UK on August 5. Very interesting considering he's always said he'd never do a sequel. But this could be lucrative considering these are two of his most popular movies.

I worked with Jeff Daniels on "Terms of Endearment" and Yes him and Jim should pair up again..maybe not D & D, Should bring back as like "BoB Hope/Bing Crosby "ON the Road Movies".Not to be rude, but people are aging...and need to make movies while they can, to maximaze earning copacity to retire on to support side ventures.

In past posts i've mentioned i'd love to see Jim and Jeff hook up in a Mathau/Lemon style......poignant yet funny....... Jeff's really caught up with his music now though, so that train might have left the station........

hmmm........They're a bit mean about Evan Almighty...it wasn't THAT bad....i liked it!.....ok the wee furballs made it for me but calling it 'excrutiatingly dreadful' is just mean...... Re a Bruce sequel....hmmmm.....i'm not convinced........I think as a stand alone film it's a great movie, but it had an ending, there's nothing more for the film to say and i think a sequel would dilute it's credibility........ Dumb and Dumber however feels like a credible possibility......we all fell in love with Harry and Llyods relationship .....they touched our hearts and i think we'd love to see how they've progressed........i don't think Bruce Almighty touched our hearts in the same way...........I would say leave Bruce Almighty as a great stand alone film but explore a possible Dumb and Dumber.......and i would love to see them do one in maybe 20 years to bring it to a natural conclusion........ But hey, what the heck do i know..............lol.........

I'm not loving the idea to create a sequel for Bruce Almighty ... What would be the point? Everything he had to learn was in the first one, wouldn't a second time kill that spirit?

A Bruce Almighty sequel? I agree, this is not the right time Let it age with time, like a fine wine Later, may be a good idea. I actually liked Evan Almighty, I wasn't sure I would, but it was really good. I don't know who they were asking but I doubt if they were talking to the Baby Boomers, who are in the majority

Instead of trying to knock his confidence back and forth Let him make up his mind Overall he is an actor not the president His decisions isn't going to drag everyone to hell It's better that his career isn't taken so personal
