Bicycle season (too tired to figure out if I spelled it OK)

My Bike is on the fritz,
debating whether to get a regular no speed bike like my old
Western Flyer, a new electric bike, electric scooter,
or whatever.
Has anyone recently purchased an electric bike,
or something that moves, fairly easy, no fuss
if so
what brand do you think is the best??

If my legs could go thru so much circular motion and be able to support the weight and strain....then I would be able to. I just had a basic 15 speed Thurster when I was 14....it went through a lot.



If I had to choose it would be a Mongoose! I love the style of the bike.
My brother had a small, thin huffy that was a 10 speed, he wore it out within 6 mos.....lol.

lol.........yeah but our drivers can be a bit scary and we don't have cycle lanes.........i'd be squashed like a hedgehog.......lol.....

the main road.
Some of the Canada Trail uses the less travelled highways and
then special bike trails when there is alot of traffic on the main road.
I'd like to travel the whole think cross country but maybe I'm too old
to do so.
I know a few people who have done it in parts.

Out in Lethbridge I had a really big crash, flipped the bike, then
it fell on me, I was limping for months, thankfully nothing was
broken.

if you want to get an electric something and you feel like your weight is too much for it, then get your butt out there and start cycling! It's great exercise! I have been bike riding and running just because I'd love to weigh less period.

The other thing is, is the more of us cyclists that are out on the road, more and more people will be aware of us and NOT be so road rage-y toward us. We exist.

Now depending on where you would like to ride, a mountain bike or a cross bike is great for trails, but a hybrid/cyclo-cross bike is great for both. If you'd like to be out on the road you could get a road bike. . . they have official road bikes and they have some casual commuter road bikes.

It's all very easy to do once you get started. I highly reccommend the bike that you pedal over a motorized scooter because you're only going to get heavier unless you run marathons or something.

If i can overcome my fear of ending up as roadkill i'd seriously consider getting a new bike but i'd never consider an electric one.......i'd no idea they even existed till you mentioned it.......lol

I used to cycle everywhere when i was a kid and as Summer approaches it would be a great way to mix fitness with fresh air
but the big dilema is which kind to go for..........
BTW have you seen the movie 'the Flying Scotsman' about the cyclist Graeme Obree ?...........it's a smashing wee film.......

Big thing to remember about being a cyclist. SHARE THE ROAD whether you're in a car, on a motorcycle, or on a bicycle.

Take command of the road even if you're on a bicycle. It is a crime if you get hit and the car doesn't stop. That's called HIT AND RUN. . . always have a phone on you when out cycling and have a bicycle lawyer's number to represent you if you are hit by a car. You have NOTHING to fear. Four wheels are deadlier than TWO wheels, so you'll win if you're hit.
