I m Hindu, but more on the spiritual side.

Today's religion is actually mixed with politics & had also become more materialistic, some people hav made it a business.......also, it gives rise to religious fanaticism & violence. :?

I am Hindu. But I believe in every religion and I respect each of them in the world. :D I think today the world has become the place of selfish people.People turned religion into some kind of business. They respect money more than God.Most of the religious trusts are also fake.Atleast I think so too.

it's very interesting, to be open minded you have the accept the other's freedom of choosing their own religion even though their beliefs contradict with your own ...

I personally think one should believe what comes from your heart , though right and wrong are relative matters... you should always follow your heart and that's about it

Perhaps, we should ask "Do you believe in someone or ..

something bigger than ourselves...
I was thinking the other day....
regardless of what religion or belief most of our beliefs include:

a belief in someone who is an incredible example(perfect being)
prayer (of some kind or another)
listening -enlightenment (possibly reading of scriptures or a type of meditation)
helping and respecting others and ourselves(a basic love for all mankind)

So really most beliefs are really in tune with each other we somehow make them all seem so different and not alike. If all faiths could find a basic common ground in order to eliminate war and destruction,
this world would be such a better world to live in, I believe the world has at one time been in harmony with itself and could be again. The possibility is not so far away.

i don't think that different religions is what creates wars... i think it's the idea of not accepting the others, is what creates them

That's true . If I believe in something that has not been studied yet - it is wrong - Why can't we just accept everyone for how they are . As long as you nor I are disrespected than what is the problem ?

I believe in life and people. But I'm not the guy believing in any sort of religion. I think it's a good thing for the people who need it to survive this world, but on the other hand it's the number one reason for all the wars going on in the world. I don't care what religion people have, everybody should be free to have their own.

Sorry don't mean to be a prude, but it's The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints (LDS). :) I only have to add that because most people think we(Mormon's/LDS) are not Christians - and then I have to laugh because if we weren't Christians why would we have Jesus Christ in our church name? Trust me.....we very much are Christians. ;)
