Well, Sparky, I was out in the back 40 chillin' in my tent, minding my own business... and noone seemed satisfied to leave me in peace... So I left my little camp. I was put out for the frustration of it all ...and along came a tumbleweed. What's it all about... Whatever I make of it at my own inclination... Only it's snowballed a bit, and Fluffy has joined in. Does it bother you?

PS...It's 'Off Topic' ...so who's gonna care?

Fluffy is out of town til Monday... so you're stuck with me for now.

Seems Nicky had to make the trip to Austin for medicines and other supplies...

Would Mr. Sparkles like to be written into the tale? We could use another hand on the ranch... They only call you "Sparky." You were putting up barbed wire fencing out on the ranch. The skies grew dark. You knew the danger, but wanted to finish the job before the storm hit...

and CRACK!, you were struck by lightning... Miraculously, you survived, but now we call you 'Sparky.' You no longer remember your own name and kept on asking everybody why we called you Hank, so we, or rather they, stopped.

Damn good ranch hand though...What devotion!

Jayne is the neighboring farmer's daughter... She makes making moonshine and dandelion wine a bit of an artform. Very colorful person...

Who knows... maybe I'll find him in the arms of the town 'Madam' and go hang myself in the barn. Perfect ending to a perfect day, and really just my luck. OR maybe for once those miserable stars will align in my favour. Humor me...just a while.

I went for some air... I stopped in the barn to check on Raine. It had been a while since my last visit. I couldn't resist. I opened the barn door. Checked to be sure the buckles of his saddle were secure and hoisted myself up. Just a short ride. I wish I could ride clear to the ocean. Search for pearls or sails on the horizon, sails other than the sheets I'd just washed and hung to dry on the line. Then I got to thinking about the old sailing ships. Spanish Galleons on a treasure route to a Mayan pyramid of gold or some other exotic paradise. I'm sure I fancy the dream to the reality of months in the harrowing sea, but the fresh sea spray splashing or the foam on a beach walk with sand between my toes...

My cowboy had caught up with me and was asking if I'd mind him joining me awhile. They had finished the Christmas decoration on the house and the fences leading to ,when he saw us out here. We sat in silence, staring at the panorama of the rise and fall of dusty ridges changing color in the twilight, and mingling with the last golden ray of the westering sun's grand magnificance, we turned for home.

"Hey Owen, wanna race?" :D

He smiled, tipped his hat, and was off. I admit I delayed a moment or two, I love watchin' him go... I nearly got nose to nose, but he pulled ahead and rounded into the barn.

"Nicky should be back tomorrow," I said,"Jim'll be pleased to get his nurse back." "Still tender, I bet."
