RU486? Do you remember Orson Wells... Rosebud!

That was an interesting flick... A puzzle! Riddle me this, Why would Randolf Hearst build a movie studio for a budding young canadian actress? It must have been love. Can you imagine dinner parties? Charlie Chaplin? Catherine Hepburn? Rita Haywarth? Clark Gable? Dear Mr. Gable, Its me Judy!

Wonderful film, I agree. Orson Wells was incredible. Love the Rosebud mystery.

Mind you, I loved him in 'The Third Man' too. Absolute classic that. 8)

I love reading about the old celebrities. The studios could own them, it seems, body and soul sometimes.

I used to read tons of biographies about Fairbanks and Pickford, Rock Hudson, Grace Kelly et al.

Talking of old classics. I have a real thing for The Third Man. It's a fabulous film. I even listened to a reading of it on 'Books At Bedtime' on the radio last year and it was amazing. It's just a great story, well told.

Orson Welles was inspirational as Harry Lime in the movie, but as that was a relatively small part overall I think you have to give credit to all the actors and director, etc.

I was even at the IMDb reading about a short film made called 'Five Minutes, Mr Welles'. It centres on the moments before Orson Welles goes to film the scenes on the Ferris Wheel where he descibes the people below as ants. Hehad problems with the script and it follows how he got himself into the role.

It's all fascinating stuff. Some films just grab you like that. I know this is a JC board and I love his films. But The Third Man is a true classic.
