Its Election time... In the US we are in for a wild ride

Here come the telemarketers, flyers and speeches. I like our country and knowing I can participate in the election process is pretty cool. But there is so much information flying around its hard to make heads or tails out of it. So much is spin... I watched a 70 year old man vote for the first time in the last election. He was crying, "why did I wait so long to do this?" His family planned a party for him that night! How cool is that? I happen to think voting is pretty awesome. At least I have a voice.

interestingly more Amercians voted in the pop Idol final than your last presidential election.......

It's a lot easier to make a phone call than it is to GO TO the polling place.

One doesn't have to register to vote for American Idol.

As with all figures that get thrown around...there's more to consider than those mere numbers.

But I agree that voter turnout here leaves a lot to be desired.

So far, all I'm seeing are personal attack ads and NOT ONE candidate has an original issue they want to talk about....it's just a rehash of the S.O.S.

then again it might have had something to do with people voting with their feet...........we did......we had an exceptionally low turnout as a result of the war......

I have to wonder about that Fluffy, When you see history with Hitler, Stalin, Pok.... political apathy can be pretty scary. Slippery sloap. When the public isn't looking is when Government can run amuck. Thank God we have stuff like the Brown Act (Laws to make sure the government decisions are always Public) Sarbones Oxley Act to make sure Taxpayer money isn't embezzled, wasted and unwisely spent on unfinished pet projects, or high salaries or confused as a gift of public funds. Maybe I'm just a little more particular on what I think money should be spent on like free public transportation for the poor, low income housing, healthcare reform, stuff like that. At least in England and Canada they have free healthcare. Lucky bloats
