Meditation Anyone?![]() I'm not a natural chocolate person......but even I'm starting to admit the hypnotic appeal of a quick choc fix. I don't know if it's age, increasing sweet tooth, hassle in life or what. I have to use willpower much more these days. I concentrate on blocking the chocolate purchases....and then whadda ya know.....I have a shopping basket fill of wine! ![]() I'm well into the idea of yoga/meditation though. I want to try it. I know I'm a heathen and lacking in spiritual enlightenment, but I think might work for me. Also, I don't know if I'm cracking up. But some of you know my Grandad passed away last week. I may be losing it...but I'm smelling him around the house. Scents associated with him, not him as such. Just occasionally. I got a strong sense of it yesterday. Got Mr Niobe to see if he could smell anything, but he couldn't. Is it my mind going mad....? ![]() Not sure why I added that there....... Everybody should believe in something.
I believe I'll have another coffee! ![]()
well, you could look at it two ways........it's your mind remembering, your way of coping with the grief.........your long term memory is sharpened........
or if you believe in more spiritual explantions.......perhaps it's your grandpas way of saying goodbye, and telling you that he'll always be around in spirit, if not in body..........i kinda like that theory best ![]() ![]() fluffy ![]() Fluffy
Yeah, I've thought about both theories. I remember my dad having similar experiences when my Grandma died 25 yrs ago. I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me and linking to that.
I'm prepared to believe it could be spiritual. But I'm more likely to think it's my mind playing tricks on me before that. ![]() Everybody should believe in something.

I haven't found yoga etc. useful in dealing with any real worries. In that respect it's been more like any other exercise to me, walking etc..
imo, the more the challenges, if they are great enough, the more one is driven to find one's center. And the things we experience then stays with us. In that sense it works from inside-out, not outside-in. - Last edited by mav on Sat May 20, 2006 3:47 am, edited 1 time in total.
I feel somewhat the same Mav. I have found that Rieki helps me with the "Real" stuff... to understand myself more...and make the choice that will be true for the outcome to come to fruition Imagine.....
Someone mentioned yoga? I think yoga is cool....I think stretching in general is great, which is a big part of what yoga is.
Reiki - is that like isometrics? "When in doubt, tell the truth."
Mark Twain
Reiki is an ancient form of healing believed to have spread through Tibet, China and India a few thousand years ago. It was rediscovered in the late 19th century in Sanskrit teachings from the days of the Buddha by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Christian minister and theology teacher.
The word Reiki is Japanese, where ‘‘Rei’’ means ‘‘Universal’’ and ‘‘Ki’’ means ‘‘Life Energy’’, the same as the Chinese ‘‘Chi’’ or the Indian ‘‘Prana’’. Reiki is the vital life energy which flows through all living things and which can be activated for the purpose of healing, working on all levels - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Although it has its roots in ancient Buddhist teachings, Reiki is not a religion or a faith system. All that is necessary is the will to heal and the will to be whole. fluffy ![]() The Usui System of Natural Healing was brought to the west around the middle of this century through the dedication of Mrs. Hawayo Takata.
