Jim Carrey's nephew killed in car crashThe Hamilton Spectator (Jun 4, 2005) Movie star Jim Carrey flew from Los Angeles last night to be with his sister in Waterdown after learning one of her three sons had been killed in a freak traffic accident Marty Fournier, 25, died of massive head injuries after the flat bed of a landscaping truck sheared off and flew into the front of his Pontiac Sunbird, crushing part of its roof. Marty was a local singer songwritter along with his mother. Marty's fiancee was not hurt in thre accident My sympaties go out to Jim and his family and friends. There is no laughter in the Carrey household tonight Nelson Denton Hamilton.

Oh my. How awful. I've honestly got tears in my eyes reading that. I has to be awful to lose a nephew. Mine's in Iraq and I pray for him all the time.
My condolences go out to the whole family. I hope they can get through this and find peace. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

I just wish friends that knew Marty from grade school and highschool could go to the funeral... A whole bunch of us who grew up with Marty can not go and give our last respects to Marty since it is a private funeral. I understand why it is. I would never want this to become a media frenzy... I respect Jim and the need for privacy but at the same time... ah you know what i'm getting at. I don't know a bunch of us including me are still in shock. Heck I just got off the phone with Marty's childhood/highschool best friend, and unfortunately he didn't know about Marty and I had to give him the bad news.
Jim, I and many old friends from Waterdown District Highschool give you and your family (especially RF) our deepest sympathy. We're all grieving, for a future bright star has faded. Marty, you gave us many great memories. Rest in Peace. We'll miss you. Last edited by daisy88734 on Sat Jun 04, 2005 8:45 pm, edited 2 times in total.

Oh my goodness. This must be such a terrible time for the whole family, my heart truly goes out to them.
Absoultely awful. Another example of why you should live for each day. I also read that Marty & his fiance were to be married next month. Such a tragic loss.
