I ran across this photo today. It is from Rueters but obviously paparazzi.
Adam Sandler, Jim and Jane at Rodney's Funeral and a couple of others
he looks okay in the top two photos. This is kinda morbid, but I'd like a pic that shows him and the guys carrying the coffin. that's bad but it sounded like a touching moment and an honor. sorry to offend anyone!
I really am. . .
In the restaurantLast weekend I was in Kincardine at a local restaurant
and they played (I think it's called)"I'll fly away" by Sinatra It was ironic and I commented to my friends that this was Rodney's favorite song. I prefer to remember people the way they were when they were alive. Thanks for the pictures of Jim & Rodney
i learned that at my first funeral, when a family member died, that it's better to smile than to cry. You can tell stories, jokes, and anything else about everything at a funeral. It's better to give people smiles than to cry like a baby at funerals. Focus on the positive at funerals. I think that's what everyone is doing in that photo.
They're being positive.
It was a funeral for a man who made everyone laugh. He also gave alot of comedians their "big break". Put alot of comedians in one place and there's gonna be some laughter. Plus, it is human nature to laugh to cover up sorrow and to celibrate one's life as opposed to mourning the death. They're probably telling each other their favorite Rodney stories. Notice how Jim positively beams when he's in Rodney's presence.
I AGREE!i recently went to a funeral and I couldn't cry, I cried when I heard about
it, the funeral was a few days later, all my tears were gone. After I go, I want my kids to do something that celebrates life, and appreciate this beautiful world. I was looking at my mom's funeral card recently and there was a card that said" "Cry for a little while, but let me go" The letting go is the hardest.
Of course Jim and the entire world is sad about Rodney passing, but the poor guy was in a hospital for months...it was his time.....his pain is now over and his life is remembered in the company of family and friends....and the rest of the world...Rodney's fans....and perhaps Jim finds it hilarious that the papparazi photograph every freakin minute of his life...especially at such a personal occasion....Rodney's funeral.
Who knows why he's smiling? " Why didn't you help the little old lady cross the street? She needed to get to the other side?"
"Clap On. Clap off "
I was reading today in the scripturesI read this today and thought of this site.
Proverbs 14:13 The Bible
Re: I was reading today in the scriptures
and in case some of you are wondering what that verse is, it's "Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in grief." that's genius! Thanks for sharing that with us, Jayne!
It is better that CJ didn't post the line, because some of us are not religious or don't believe in the bible...

"I was sitting back in my chair thinking 'this can't be about urine'" - Jim talking about the musical Urinetown
sorry for posting the line. I just thought people might be curious as to what it said. you don't have to be religious to know what the bible says. also, the book of Proverbs is not all religious. It has some really wise sayings that an original American can live now.
anyways, all apologies for posting that line!
