Bruce Almighty reviewed in Maxim Magazine!

Postby FavaBeans CBM » Thu Apr 24, 2003 12:02 am

Just recieved my monthly subscription to Maxim Magazine and to my excitement in it I find a review of Bruce Almighty, in the Summer Movie Preview Feature. So, here a few snipets of the article:

"Hallelujah! After four years of dabbling in laughable dramas (Man on the Moon, The Majestic), Carrey gets back on the shtick with Bruce Almighty. As insurance, he's working with Tom Shadyac, who made him a movie star with the original Ace Ventura and directed him again in Liar, Liar. Can't miss? Shadyac answers, "Um, God willing". "

"The film does try to grapple with such questions as "Why is there hunger?", "Why is there famine?" , and "Why are there earthquakes?". To allay our psychotic fears, Shadyac assures us that Bruce Almighty is "definetly a comedy. Jim and I just came off dramas, so we're both feeling very funny again"

The article also gave an interesting, possible, downside to the film:

"Religion, especially in the current world climate, is normally not a funny subject... unless it involves those wacky Amish"

Thoughts on this? Remember these are not my words. This review was published by Maxim Magazine.
**---------------------------------------------------**
Visit my comic book movies website.
