if Jim came on occasionally he'd have the biggest A-lister website around. ..everyone would join......lol.......we periodically go quiet when Jim's filming. When a movie comes out it gets very busy again.....
plus summer is quieter........kids have exams etc..... :D
re spicing it up........i'm open to all ideas........ :D

They still have to put bread and butter on their table..

Postby Canadian Jayne » Sat May 17, 2008 4:54 pm

I think to have their lives invaded so much must be nerve wracking.
They're people too, only sad thing is when things happen in their lives it's spread all over the newspapers and often derogatory and can influence their bread & butter even if the reports are untrue.
I absolutely respect their need for privacy. My opinion ,and only my opinion is, you can still be a great actor or actress( I prefer to define the genre)
and not be in the limelight so much. I think those who enjoy an actor just want to be kept up-to-date on their projects same with singer, band, people always want to know "What's New" and it doesn't have to be negative either.
Even an author of a book, often people quest for new knowledge.

Look at us we've just received the latest info on Mars, and confirmed there is water there, pretty deep, but still there.

I admire Jim greatly for his desire and attempts to keep his personal life private. He doesn't court the party scene frequently and keeps a low profile, he's a classy guy.

At first I thought it was a little unfair of you to write this. It sounded very prejudiced, also because there are many celebrities who actually do a lot for the world (for both humans and animals).
It wasn't 'til I read an Angelina Jolie-interview a few days ago when I actually started to agree with you. She said she had done a party a few years ago to try and collect money for landmines to be completely forbidden in the world. About 40 celebrities showed up. How much she gathered? About twice the cost of how much it cost to throw the party together! That's why she isn't putting any parties like that together anymore.
She weren't the only one who got dissapointed of how stingy they were - that's for sure!! :x Seems like most of them are more interested in getting the latest fashion and a perfect stomach than using their public voices for something good!

I think 'stars' have a helluva tough deal and those who remain balanced with some degree of reality are to be applauded. What price privacy? You can't make mistakes or you'll be crucified in the press.....even charity work is looked on suspiciously....Surrounded by sycophants and 'yes men' they need to reach out to normality somehow, be it through friends or family. All those who think fame is the 'holy grail' are mistaken, it's surely a double edged sword.

If all millionaires put atleast one percent of what they have in the bank towards a good cause ... they would be respected more than being laughed at for the dumb things they waste their money on -

Besides they can change the world . They have access to anything they want to do . So why not change the world ?

I think you'd be surprised at just how much these 'millionaires' you talk about do give to charity. Not least because there are tax benefits, money can't change the world though.....only hope and faith can do that....
