Oh. The ranch. The house was utterly consumed by fire when another alien craft crash landed through the little bedroom that was once my own, but the good news was the nasty little bugger flying the thing died, which left me with Jim, whom I discovered was one of them in a 'human' suit. He was working feverishly to repair the transmitter to contact the mother ship, and had forgotten I was there. I was backing away slowly when the floor gave way in the intense heat and flame of the burning house. I don't remember the fall or the landing, but I am told I had managed to crawl through the rubble and falling ash and timber to the porch where I was found at dawn by our returning hero and entepreneur. (Why is there no spell check on this thing?) Luke. He loaded me in the back of his wagon, and made way over to the old farmer's place to see if any of them had survived the onslaught. It was there I eventually awoke. I came to the kitchen where the farmer and his daughter, Jayne, sat with Luke. I was hit with a sudden barrage of questions, but could only get two words out: "Whiskey, Jayne."

I finished off that glass and two others, when an ever fuzzying Luke took my glass. I had been relaying the story between swigs when I got to the part where "Jim put on his human suit, turned his head to look at me and said," then I reached out for the jug of whiskey took another healthy draft, looked at the three blurry people waiting in anxious anticipation of the rest of the story, drank again and... "Kava. KaVakavA." "Just like that," I said. "Nonsense."
