I was on a website that said the question people ask Drs most is "Why do men have nipples?" They don't seem to serve any purpose so why are they there? I know the answer but I am wondering if anybody here also knows.

men have nipples because it's genetic. their parents have nipples, their parents' parents have nipples, and so on. that's the only reason. it goes all the way back to apes and everything.

Ok, this is the only thing I could find.

The answer is that as embryos men and women have similar tissues and body parts. If anything the embryo follows a 'female template'. That is why nipples are present in both sexes.
Nipples and breast tissue have no function as such except for perhaps protecting the heart and lungs from injury.
