Why I am not a cat person....

Here is where you discuss everything under the sun, just keep it clean.

Yeah, it's just a stupid superstition but she just doesn't like cats...But I do. Yeah, she doesn't like cats because she says they eat food at the table and yeah, a lot of people are allergic to them but I'm not.

Well just to update the people who are interested, we're having Holly put to sleep on Friday.
She's completely lost the use of her leg, and she's just plain miserable. She can't get comfortable, she obviously can't walk properly, she's having trouble getting in the litter box, and she's just lying around.
This is no life for anyone.
We are being kind by making this decision, she'll be put out of her misery.
I'm hurting so much right now, I'm losing a family member and a best friend...

I've had to put a couple of animals to sleep due to old age and illness. I know what you're going through but understand, even though it is painful for you to lose your kitty, it is the best thing you can do for it. Quality of life is more humane than longevity... no more pain for them, no more worry for you. Just remember all the good things your kitty gives you emotionally and hold on to that feeling and keep them close to your heart.

Ahh, this year... in April... the family dog that we've had since before I was even in school got really sick. We'd always say he was an eternal dog because he was just as hyper and happy as could be. He got really sick, to the point where when he would try to walk he would just fall over.
It was when my mom woke up and found him in her closet that she realized he was dying. It was really devistating for all of us.

Let me quote that he was always terribly afraid of storms... whenever he would hear thunder he would hide under anything and whine. Well, we had to take him to the vet and the man said he wasn't looking good and he would try to keep him alive if we let him stay there.
That night it stormed like crazy... my mom got a call early that next morning from the man telling her that he had died during the night.

He was more like a family member then a dog... we had him for over 10 years...so I understand completely. Its terrible and still when I think of him I almost cry. It feels like he shouldn't even be gone, and that he should still be here. It doesn't make matters worse that I was always mean to him because he annoyed me.

Oh well, as your cat is in heaven happier then she was on earth, so is my dog :) That keeps a smile on my face.

Sorry to hear about your cat. :(

I am letting this cat into my room at night thinking maybe she's barfing because she misses my cousin and his GF (they are down south helping FEMA with hurricane relief).

This morning I screamed myself awake with a cat face literally millimeters from mine. I think I scared her, but dang, large feline eyes are not what I normally wake up with.

And she paid me back by barfing twice this morning.

And it is reallyreally hard to get a cat to take pepcid.

when they wanna sleep on your head

Why? Because they have mistaken your hair for another very blonde cat?

Well, my cat sleeps on my pillow by my head every night. I think it makes them feel secure... or something.

My old cat Pepsi used to sleep on my head. Holly slept on my bed for a few years, but she eventually got tired of climbing the stairs. We lived in a flat last year, and both of my cats used to live in my room. It got annoying in the end, but I'd do anything for them to both be lying on my bed now.

For some reason, when you lose a pet, you remember the times you were mean to them, and you kick yourself. I've started beating myself up about it, but I know Holly would forgive me. She knows that I always loved her, even when I got mad. I'm just struggling to cope at the moment. Everytime I get a minute to myself, I get sad.

I have now been together with the cat for a long time.

Once a day, it seems, she races out of the back bedroom and down the stairs like rocket. She then sits in the tiled foyer and meows three times.

I don't know why. It's like a ritual with this cat. Maybe she just likes the acoustics there.

Also, I have to be careful not to fall asleep on the couch. She will jump onto the back of the sofa, then she will pounce on my stomach. Having this happen when you are deeply asleep is really shocking.

This morning she decided I should get up at 7. That's when she comes into the bedroom and starts stomping all over me until I get up.

You know what's worse? I could have chased her out of the room and shut the door, but instead I kept rolling over and saying, "Five more minutes Nikita" like she is some snooze alarm.
