Reminds me of....

Postby Canadian Jayne » Thu Nov 22, 2007 7:14 pm

my old pioneer dress I sewed when I was a teenager amazingly, it still fits, only mines, purple gingham, I keep it in the Halloween costume bin,my kids and I bring it out and reminisce every halloween on the old costumes and what we did that Halloween, fun and funny, it's like Mr. Dressups tickle trunk.

Strange thing happened to me today... got a vibe on James Dean wanting me to watch 'Giant.' I know where his head's at... keeping me at the ranch. Maybe he's trying to point me in the right direction... I appreciate the thought so I went to my video store. They don't have it. Been years since I'd seen it. I only remember he had a crush on Eliz. Taylor's character, and got shamefully drunk and stupid. There must be something to it tho'...maybe the house. I dunno. Maybe one our fellas will strike gold... Texas tea. OIL. That's gonna bug me now...

Pity my psychic vibes aren't any stronger... Maybe then I'd known what he was hinting at. Mostly I'm just glad they don't come too often.

OH YES ...back at the ranch. Thanksgiving dinner... The tapers were lit over the lovely spread on the long oak table in the dining hall. The rancher said 'Grace,' which was nicely done... the feast, enjoyed by all, was followed by an entertaining evening in the parlor. Nicky, turned off the player's switch, and tickled the ivories herself, while the old rancher picked up his fiddle and bow... I, however, took a flute of wine to the porch...

...Owen gave me company. He lent me his coat on a walk to the barn. They were able to coax Raine into a stall today... put a saddle on to get him used to the idea... Storm is still too uppety. He won't be handled yet. We sat on a bale of straw there in the barn, talking about the horse, and talking to the horse...then we got on to what we were 'thankful' for, as for me, I'd say it's him...

and then...is this a story... I'm jumpin in.....

Postby Canadian Jayne » Thu Nov 22, 2007 10:36 pm

Cdn jumps off the top loft into the hay loft announcing "I'm here"
meanwhile Raine accidently or perhaps purposely steps on Cdn's foot
perhaps in retaliation to the entry. Hopping around holding her foot,
the other two are laughing histerically. Now they call Cdn "gimpy" as
she stammers out the barn looking for sympathy somewhere else as she proclaims "Here's to you "WYLDE" thing~!

And just as they are about to share their first kiss, the barn door swung open. Trouble...

Small troupes of natives were stationed now at three corners of the ranch. Owen and the boys grabbed their ponies and their gear, and their guns... While Nicky and I fumbled about the kitchen looking for the coffee grinder, Gramma grabbed a gun and stood sentry at a back window..."How do you know when to laugh or cry," I ask Nicky, and I can tell she can't take much more...
