Happy Easter... Why the Easter bunny? Christians multiply!

Sometimes, its all in how you see life. Half full or half empty. Its all about Hope, Faith and Love. Even tough love when its necessary. Even Jesus lost his temper at corruption. So... Be humble, but stand up to evil. It makes you a stronger human being. We are not meant to be doormats.

All religions teach love and respect. I find it difficult to follow one religion because all of them are so fascinating. I don't think the great souls intended to 'found' religions. They just wanted to show us the way becuase they know it and we don't. Can I not love Jesus because I don't fit into some rule? Buddha didn't believe in idol worship and yet has the maximum number of idols in the world today. We make up what we want which may or may not be what They wanted. Well, whatever works. Sorry if I'm deviating from the topic.

No, you raise an interesting point. My uncle's a Mason...they address God as The Great Architect of the Universe. Ultimately, though I was raised Lutheran I have come to be a more nonspecific Christian, but to TRUST God. So I trust God. And mine is a benevolent, forgiving God.

S/he works through other people. There are just people you see who have that divine spark. And they walk the walk.

I was raised a catholic... but I grew up to be a non-denominal religion person after all ... I trust God and I belive in God as a superior force that guides us and comforts us through our paths in life.

I believe in moderation, that anything in excess can be harmful, and it doesn't matter what it is. I'm not sure if it's of any religion, but that's what I believe. But I also believe that happiness is key, and that it's a chosen state of mind. I like to have peace of mind.

I think you're right...but I also think that God gives us experiences for a reason. When I worked in the ER Dr. Obiekwe said, "I've not seen anyone who radiated such goodness for a long time." I have to keep telling myself that I have worth, but sometimes it's nice to hear something like that. Now that I've left the ER, everyone from our town who goes there is complaining.... "I sure miss Jill. She was always so nice and considerate." (I think my ego's in check, but it really IS nice to hear.)

I'm a bit skittish about the Bible these days....because I open it....and automatically open it to something relevant to me, now. It can be positive or negative...but it's usually positive. I'm just not used to opening a book and getting answers like that.

I've read parts of the bible, well I've been throught the holy communion and everything as a child, and I can say there are good things there that I have read, but there are things that I don't find relevant too....I'm not sure that this is such a good topic though, you know the never talk about politics and religion saying, because there could be misunderstandings, etc. So I am open to discussing it, that is what I am doing, but I don't really like to spend a lot of time thinking about this. The reason is because ultimately it doesn't matter what anyone says, it's what you do that's important. It's whether you live what you say, if you practice what you preach or not that matters. Therefore it's great that people see that in you Jill, because it means you really live it.

Somewhere here in offtopicland there's a thread titled "
Does Jim Still....."?

And it's a very thorough thread about religion. Quite deep. If you want to see a good discussion about religion, that's the thread.

Maybe its that whole Bruce Almighty thing.... To see God portrayed it a sense of humor was soooo refreshing. For Jim Carrey to produce this movie was a stroke of genius. Although some countries found it inappropriate. I thought it did throw the net out for many unbelievers, or those who are waivering in their faith. Unlike the De Vinci Code which can deter those who are still unsure with blatant false mythical story telling, and that worries me. Best seller yes, but the spiritual impact on those spititually suffering is so sad.
