Here is where you discuss everything under the sun, just keep it clean.

Have you ever had 'invasion' of pest? (ants, mice, possum)

I used to live in the valley, country living (Green Acres Moment) I realized, I've never seen some of these critters before. They have black widows out there. And sometimes the creature climb through the crevaces in you home. I invested in pest control, but nature has a way of reminding you they are slippery little suckers...

Cluster flies...

Post by Canadian Jayne »

I just finished reading a book by Rita MacNeil, anyway she lived in a
little country town and she talked about the flies in her old house; in her book.
I remember when I lived in an old building, too, in the country and since
I came from the city I never knew what cluster flies were.
Nasty things, they seem to live all winter through and hibernate like
snakes, in balls, or groups.
I hate flies as it is but to see so many in a window, just yucky.

Don't do that. Rabies treatments are painful.

In Belgium when we first moved there, we lived in an embassy apartment 'till we found a house. It was 2 bedroom and I kept waking up with itchy dots all over me.

It was a flea infestation in my room.

Some pests don't bother me that much, like ants, as long as they make their nests OUTSIDE. It's the ones that live indoors that give me nightmares. I hate NOTHING more than cockroaches. I am actually so afraid of them I'll look food over or buy packaged vegetables, grains , etc, nothing out of bins. That's how scared I am of them, and some stores need to be avoided.

I had a home in San Jose, and we had a cute possum who began to reside in our attack. Everynight he would climb about our fences. I loved the little guy, as I do most critters. I spoke with the landlord and he recommed speaking to vector control. I was pregnant and concerned about diseases. They said you should be, mating season. So.... When the little guy leaves the nest, stuff the opening with newspaper and then call the service to remove him. That seemed humaine to me. I have a hard time killing anything. Even bugs. One year was disasterous as it seemed every animal around me was dying. I took in a stray cat, who had kittens two weeks after she arrived. I took them in and I guess she was not healthy, they began to die (EEK) I went to the vet, she had feline AIDS. I watched them all pass away. I've never been the same since.
