Dog squirmish

Post by Cheryl Anna »

Kelly and I went on our walk at 7:45 this morning. We turned off our driveway to the right when a dalmatian came towards Kelly. I started screaming "No!" to the dog, and a little old lady walking towards us said, "He's deaf".
Well, the dalmatian seemed friendly and I started to pet it. I realized that it was the next door neighbors dog because they have a dog who yis deaf.
The dog seemed like it just wanted to sniff Kelly.
I became alarmed when the dalmatian growled at Kelly. When he growled louder, I grabbed his collar. The dalmatian began to chase Kelly (the two dogs are about the same size) around the wheelchair. The dalmatian ran faster than I could turn, and soon I was jerked backwards-and fell on someones driveway.
The dalmatian was startled by my falling, and just stood there. He must have thought, "What the ****!"
A passerby stopped his truck. He held the leash and the old lady (who finally caught up to the action) held the wheelchair while I got up.
The old lady was so apologetic. She said that she was very sorry. I was O.K.

Close call. Were you hurt? So the dog was on a leash, but the old lady couldn't have possibly prevented the dog from running.....then what's the use of the leash?! She should get someone who can control the dog to walk him... :x
