2012 Olympics......

Postby fluffy » Sat Jul 28, 2012 1:08 am

The opening ceremony was mind blowing.....full of British humour with nods to the NHS, James Bond and our music scene........I'll put money on Danny Boyle being knighted for it.... :D
what did you think ???? :D

I thought it was great! I hate to admit it but I thought it would be bad, but the whole thing from beginning to end was brilliant! And I wouldn't be surprised if Danny Boyle got. Knighthood or MBE or something.

the whole country was skeptical about it......lol........but he really pulled it out of the bag....Kenneth Brannagh did a great monologue too......the only thing that let it down was when Maccas tape was out of sync and he had to pull it and sing totally live ....he managed though.......... :D

I was never bothered about them but the red arrows flying over at 8.12pm made me cry like an idiot and when they lit the gold rings too (like where are the tissues). Our Queen what a fab lady for getting involved in the Bond thing. Thought it was a bit too indulgent and he never thought of the rest of the world watching. They bang on about wanting to appeal to really young people but there is no escaping the fact they would have been bored to death by all the cultural stuff. His personal choice of music awful and why oh why Paul Mcartney again, Adele the top selling Uk artist in the world right now appeals to young people and we had to have Paul singing way out of tune. Never a fan of Artic Monkeys but I'm no music snob and open to anything and I now flippin think they are fantastic, his voice live amazing and the cover he did of the Beatles I think brilliant.

ha ha fluffy come on you know me by now with the music threads, it would be Chris Brown, Rihanna and Coldplay.

On a serious note, all his choices were bit I'm a male anarchist from the 80's (self indulgent) wasn't very female friendly. Dizzy Rascal wasn't he popular ten years ago what about Tinie Temper or Labrinth it was a bit old fashioned. xx

lol........we'll have to agree to disagree. :D ......remember Danny has been planning the ceremony for 7 years so the tracks were probably chosen ages ago.......besides, he didn't just want the ceremony to be a pop concert....... :D ...to be honest i'd have been happier if they included more classical stuff......Nimrod was stunning... :D

Can you believe he won I can't, amazed hope we get a smile out of his clock......Usain Bolt was amzing too tonight...and our Mo Farah, I only saw that today and it was so cute to see his face.

Hoping they keep D Boyle away from the closing ceremony and have coldplay on for 2 hours, then ship chris brown and rihanna in to sing a duet and rekindle their love, she seems to have forgiven him. Then have the queen getting her swag on and have a shed load of fireworks that light up East London perfect.
