We had several versions of 'Shoot 'em Up' in my neighborhood growing up. Cowboys & Indians. Cops & robbers. Gangster/the mob, or other odd variations...

I remember being the only Indian, one afternoon, and the boys were all cowboys. Our general rule with any variation of these was that if you were shot you had to count to ten or something before you could get back up again. That day, I no sooner got on one knee and I was down again. They wouldn't let me up. They'd just stand over me and shoot me after I finished counting. I NEVER played Indian again.
