I don't know what the hell is wrong with those people at NewLine. I mean, this is a real rarity -- they have the chance to get Jim Carrey in a sequel film (he hardly ever does sequels; that right there is an astounding feat) and it's to a movie that had made a good chunk of money. A sequel with Carrey and Daniels would be a surefire moneymaker. The fanbase to the movie has grown over the years. The exposure it has had on video, then later DVD, and not to mention all the times it's been replayed on TV has probably made the name "Dumb and Dumber" ten times more well-known. It my opinion these people are idiots for dragging their feet and showing a lack of appreciation for this movie -- people have been waiting for it for damn-near twenty years.

Jeff claims Jim's anger is justified, so we know it's probably not just another case of spoiled-rotten celebrity wanting everything his/her way. Yet, in spite of that, I agree with Jeff Daniels: It's not time for Jim to give up yet on the project. If they have to fight to get it released, I say fight.

This movie has been long-anticipated by myself and I'm sure by most of you here. Bring it.

Don't give up, Jim and Jeff and the Farrellys.

I completely agree with you Twigggy!
New Line should be kissing their asses and accept every single conditions they ask not only because of everything you just mention but also because they are the responsible for the very DUMB idea of making that prequel, which clearly was a very big mistake.

The most important people to make that movie work and a success, want it done: Jim, Jeff, Farrelly Brother's and fans. It's not fair that a very Dumb company will stop it from happening.

I think they decided to post-pone the movie for now but I have hope that it will still be done.

Here's what the Farrelly Brothers have to say about Dumb and Dumber To.

We have never done a sequel. We could have. We could have done There Is Something Else About Mary, for instance. We didn't want to. It didn't seem natural. It felt like a money-grabber," says Farrelly (who had no association with the prequel Dumb And Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd).

"But with Dumb And Dumber, we always wanted a sequel, it's just that Jim wasn't ready. Finally he called."

Farrelly will be hoping that a rift between Carrey and New Line and Warner Brothers over the project is resolved.

The director says the two characters - again to be played by Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels - are no smarter.

Hopefully we won't have to wait until Harry and Lloyd are in their sixties/seventies; though that certainly would be amusing.
