32% on Rottentomatoes, you know, they collect al the reviews of the big and not that big guys. That's one of the worst Carrey-rate ever.
Yea, but it doesn't matter what the critics says. "Fun With Dick and Jane" is doing good in the theaters.
I think most comedies gets bad reviews. "Ace Ventura", "Bruce Almighty" and "The Longest Yard" (almost all Sandlers movies) and many other got bad reviews. But they were all doing great in the theaters. Join Jim Carrey Online on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat
Quite right. Some classic movies got shocking reviews on their release, and some (quite frankly) terrible ones got good reviews. Bar Empire, I have not read anything about FWDAJ. I refuse to. I will go see it in January when it's released here and see what I think.
A critic may get an audience of many as they're in the media/online, but it's still only one person view..... Comedies always seem to suffer the most. Everybody should believe in something.

Really? Here's how I do it. Right now, there are a few films I would like to see, but I rarely go to the movies. If I was going to do it....I'd flat out RIGHT NOW see "Memoirs of a Geisha." Simply because it's my kind of movie. (I have a weird fascination with Asia.) Second, "Narnia" because it's getting phenomenal reviews and I read the books. I might be tempted by Dick and Jane if the reviews were outstanding. I like Jim Carrey...but movies are about MORE than the cast for me. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

But you're posting on a Jim Carrey board, right? So you're a fan? I mean, based on storyline alone, I'd probably hover over going to see FWDAJ; but once it's a Carrey film, that's swung the balance....... As for Memoirs of a Geisha.....you're not wrong there. I read that book ages ago. Fantastic. I'll be seeing that one. Everybody should believe in something.

Hell, I admire that honesty on this board!
I know for a fact I'd not be going to see FWDAJ if it wasn't for the fact I really like JC. There's a little part of me that questions my devotion to this particular film as I'm mainly a dramatic Jim fan, but hey.....a night out is a night out, right? I'm already working myself up for the opening of the Number 23, but I'm gonna have to wait a while I know. I think you're fandom is pretty sound. Not everyone has to rush to the cinema to be a fan! Everybody should believe in something.

lol............me too....... but i like to think i am intelligent and articulate enough to make a good observation and form my own opinions......... i'll say it like it is.............i'm not a sycophantic fan............lol.......i merely appreciate talent when i see it............ fluffy Fluffy
Of course you are. No one has said you aren't. But the fact that movie reviews exist, and there's a thread on this board about them, is because they help some people decide WHAT to see. "When in doubt, tell the truth."

Pooey on Epert and Ripper(new names for them)I think their Crrrrrrrrrrrrapy(say this with a Scottish accent) Critics anyway.
Not even worth looking at when they give their reports, I have to put a paper over their faces on the TV, to make sure I can't see them, that's the only way I can tolerate their opinion. Anyway their men, what do they know! If their anything like our current politicians,"Not very Much". As you can see "I have my claws out today" I think it is a great movie, I've seen Narnia and as I left the theatre I thought,"Gee, I really liked Dick and Jane better"
i'm not disagreeing with you, but by virtue of the fact that people have logged into the Jim Carrey fan site they will probably be fans already. My point is people should look at life 'per se' with an open mind...... fluffy Fluffy
