i'm so sorry quirky. that's got to be hard where you are - wanting to do more but not wanting your grandma to be alone. i'm 36 and i have to keep telling myself even if i start over now, i hopefully have a lot more life to live. it is hard though at this age - it's quite pivotal in so many respects.
hang in there

You know...you have to have faith that what you're doing is right and that God is putting you places for a reason. Even on this website. There's a lot in the Bible about not leaving a spouse for any reason, but I think that might be bunk. It can work if you've found your life's partner...the person who completes you, but if we look around there are marriages falling apart everywhere. I can't say someone is damned eternally because they made every effort and then got out of a bad marriage.
Then there's a part of me that thinks marriage is MEANT to be a struggle and people pack it in too easily. It's really hard to say....but I totally support you in your choice. We all deserve to be happy. It's hard, but it's harder to live with constantly being disappointed in yourself.

filomena , sunshine - your posts are so helpful! Thanks for sharing.....
For some reason, I find it difficult to ask god for what I want. I believe she knows what I want. But more than that when I 'see' god, all I can muster is 'i miss you'. So quirky, ur not the only one with a mental illness
But I'm going to try to ask, because I have this frustating shoulder pain, it's really escalated today, refuses to go away. I would probably write it down.

That tickled me. When I came here all I thought was 'this would be some fun'. The last thing I expected was to meet some really cool people.....the latest being sunshine

me? thanks
i feel the same...its pretty wild to think we all kind of wandered into this thinking about light hearted conversations, gushing on Jim's cuteness etc but i think there was a bigger force bringing us together (even bigger than Jim LOL) this is the first forum i've ever been on. strange how things work.

because I have this frustating shoulder pain,
I had that! Before all this happened to me.
Now I have no pain at all.

So basically, if you go completely crazy, you can get rid of it.

Just bear in mind that the staircase of crazy is pretty slippery.
I don't know if it's a good trade off.
I have to trust that even THAT happened for a reason.

Yes! Everything has a reason. Hey, I'm very sure I've been careless (infact, I know exactly what! Sorry to disappoint you )... some physiotherapy and it should rock! ...er.. rotate.

So today I followed the angels. Took grandma out to near where she came from because this resort called me and told me that I had won a prize. And I have, in fact won a vacation to an island and a cruise. The only thing is...I have no other resources....so I really can't afford to do it.
Plus. I have no one to go with...my grandma's 97 and she's not gonna get on a cruise ship. So I'll probably give the vacation getaway to my cousins. The can stay on Aruba, Oahu, Maui, Jamaica or Puerto Rico because THEY can afford to get there.
The cruise? I'm not sure, I might be able to wing it to LA for the LA to Ensenada, San Diego and Catalina.
Hey Mav...wanna go on a cruise?

I need a map. I would like to go on a cruise. But I'm not sure if you'd want to go with me. My one-on-one human interaction is somewhat speech challenged. 'uh-huh' about spans the entire verbal spectrum. It would be a tortuous cruise, if not torturous.

No problem. We can say you're a mute. We can have great conversations in the cabin and then when you go on deck and clam up, I'll explain that you are a three-eyed-Egyptian princess who has mystical powers but has been struck mute. And I am your Church of Scientology escort and I translate your thoughts for people.
You will utter (through me) such profundity as:
"I would like more fruit salad."
"That SPF Factor isn't high enough for me."
AND the piece de resistance....
"This isn't one of those cruises where everyone's gonna get that fever/barfing virus is it?"

YOU WON A CRUISE????
Whoa, and what do I get? "25 years with my head in a dirty oven. Scraping. Scrubbing."
Okay, I jest. But isn't it cute the way they work? They can't give you ALL the answers. They really love it when you have to figure things out.
Please find a way to go and enjoy it. YOU DESERVE IT!!!!
(plus, does this mean you started the dialogue? I really really really really hope so)
