Oh my gosh! I am literally jumping up and down at my keyboard right now! The moment we have all been waiting for has arrived!
Remember back in the 1990s when Jim paid tribute to Steven Spielberg at the AFI Awards and faked being really mad that he didn't get to work with him? Well guess what... our dreams have come true!
Jim Carrey and Steven Spielberg will work together on "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty!" We thought this project was dead and gone. But Spielberg has picked up the director's bullhorn and Jim is inked to play Danny Kaye's famous role of Walter Mitty for Paramount Pictures in a remake of this fantasy/comedy/musical film which was originally released back in 1947.
"The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" is a short story originally written by author James Thurber about a man who escapes his hard reality through daydreams and becomes a swashbuckling hero during these daydreams. He even pulls off a few song and dance numbers.
The remake will be developed to start production within the next twelve months! Jim's keeping our site hopping, that's for sure, and his fans on the edge of their seats just waiting to see what he's going to pull out of his hat next.
Congratulations, Jim, on picking a great project to work on with your dream director at the helm. We look forward to covering this project as it works its way to the silver screen.
