DiCaprio playing "The Aviator" (aka "Untitled Howard Hughes Project")?

Mr. King-of-The-World may beat Jim Carrey for the role of Howard Hughes after all. Greg's Upcoming Preview of Movies says that production for DiCaprio's Alexander the Great biopic was pushed back to 2003, giving him and director Martin Scorcese an opportunity to move ahead with "The Aviator".
Although DiCaprio is still committed to the Alexander biopic, helmed by "Moulin Rouge" director, Baz Luhrmann, Carrey has quite a busy schedule himself. He is currently filming "Bruce Almighty" and will follow it up with "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", written by Chalie Kaufman.
