According to The Wrap, Paramount Pictures is planning a wave of Sonic the Hedgehog spinoff films — and fans are buzzing. But the biggest question on everyone’s mind? Will Jim Carrey return as the wildly entertaining Dr. Robotnik?
Carrey’s performance — part evil genius, part cartoon chaos — has been a fan-favorite since the first film. And here's the exciting part: ahead of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 premiere, Carrey himself told the press that he was ready for more in this universe. That statement alone has fans spinning with anticipation.
With Sonic Movie 4 trending and spinoffs on the horizon, it’s hard to imagine the franchise without his rubber-faced brilliance.
No official word yet on which characters will lead the new films, but Carrey’s dual role as Robotnik and Gerald Robotnik in Sonic 3 has opened the door to all kinds of wild possibilities — origin stories, multiverse showdowns, and maybe even a solo Eggman film.
Whatever comes next, fans are hoping for more Jim. After all, in a universe of speed and spinoffs, nobody steals a scene like Carrey.
