Sonic movie franchise has earned $1 billion globally

The Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise has proven to be a massive success for both Paramount and SEGA, with the three movies collectively surpassing $1 billion at the global box office. The first film earned over $320 million, its sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 2 brought in over $405 million, and the latest installment, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, has already grossed $279 million and counting.
The franchise's most recent entry, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, is still going strong in theaters, adding a hefty $72.4 million globally during its second weekend alone. With Sonic 3 still in theaters and three international markets, including China, yet to open, the franchise is poised to shatter even more records.
We are happy that Jim Carrey's memorable portrayal of the villainous Dr. Robotnik, adding to the movies charm and appeal.
