Sonic the Hedgehog turns 30 today

It’s been 30 years since Sonic the Hedgehog first sped onto our screens, the original game came to the Sega Mega Drive and the blue blur is still a pop-culture staple three decades later!
Jeff Fowler, the director for the upcoming Jim Carrey movie "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" dropped a special birthday message on Twitter today. Fowler and the crew took some time out to give their titular hero a very special exploding birthday cake. They are currently filming in Hawaii, but soon all filming is expected to be done and the movie can go in post production.
