Patience.. Thats a tough one to maintai, How do you do it?
Just gritting my teeth hasn't been working. I've been dealing with a problem for 942 days, everywhere I go there it is. Its pretty spooky when you can actually count the days you've been trying to rid your life of something. I've been trying to get away from this problem and I'm puzzled, Most of the time I laugh at it... But sometimes when something keeps picking and picking, you finally lose your composure and "Damn eat your oatmeal!" Everyone has a breaking point.

I've learned through the years that the best medicine against a problem is facing it... it's not easy... it takes a lot of courage and nerve... it's scary sometimes... but it's really necessary if we want to move on... ohh... and breakdowns are part of the problem solving process...

Patience....well I think just relax and let your mind wander and just be patient, like if you are waiting for a haircut. But I agree that dealing with a problem usually does not involve patience, it involves action, or maybe a real commitment to change. Some problems could involve work and commitment to making the change that may be involved. Probably you would need to talk about the problem, or seek help. What are we talking about anyway?

I self-medicate with it. I totally know this...and I know I shouldn't drink, but I do partake. I've thought about asking my Dr. "So far so good, with the meds, but can you prescribe anything with the effect of 3 glasses of red wine in the evening?
When I moved to Europe, the drinking age was 16....but no one ever carded.

I think you need to look at your priorities Quirky...is there any way you can join the I WILL BE HAPPY club, or maybe better yet, try the meds on demand, didn't Jim say he takes meds occasionally when he needs them? They do have that now you know. I find that getting outdoors more helps, if you live in an apartment, can't you try walking outdoors more?

The problem is, I'm a part of the "people don't give a shit what I do" club.Michele Hernandez wrote:I think you need to look at your priorities Quirky...is there any way you can join the I WILL BE HAPPY club, or maybe better yet, try the meds on demand, didn't Jim say he takes meds occasionally when he needs them? I on two different meds for depression, two that are to slow my brain down and one for the shakes.
I do self-analysis a lot. I can tell you how I got this way....I always acted like everything was fine. Was always the one to get the prize in school. Cared so much about the rest of the family I forgot about myself.

I was always that way myself Quirk.....I was always the 'good girl'. I was my mother's favorite, only because I always helped her out, and did good in school. But then I went to live with my dad at 13....a total nother scene. I guess it helped me in a strange way, he lived in the country for one thing....that's when I started hanging around my older cousin Brook, and my sister was there too. And I've struggled with issues too....but I've never none the meds route, and it hasn't been easy...but why do you say you don't give a shit? Just be careful, because you may later. But the body has a tremendous power to heal. That's the paradox, how we defy entropy on this planet earth. Well anyway, you will be OK, I'm sure of that. Your body is your temple, and I don't think you should disrespect it, but that's just my opinion. Can't you focus on some alternative medicine, if you know what I mean, or like rely more on counseling? Actually I should shut up because I don't really know the situation.
