Moral dilemma. What would YOU do?
I've met a couple of my neighbors. The other night, one asked if I could take her and her mom to bingo. (Not a long drive, but into a kind of bad area). I asked if she had a ride home and she said no.
Bingo lasts 'till 11pm. I told her I could take her, but not pick her up. She said never mind then...and she said it's hard here. People aren't as nice as they were in Chicago...etc.
So, she just knocked on my door. It's 9pm. She wants to know can I take her mom and her to bingo tomorrow.
I'm going to see a community theatre play, so I can't....but really
I'm a little scared to play chauffer here.
In part I trust that nothing bad is going to happen to me and I should reach out and help others....but I have some fear, too.
What do you think?

See...no matter how I handle this I'll probably feel bad.
I'm such a damn Pollyanna and I'm not afraid of things in general...but I've really never been in this position before.
I may just have to tell her that I am able to take them (I think her mom's handicapped)...but that she needs to find another way home because 11 is too late.

If you do not know them well, it's better to take it slowly... specially at night. Mav has a point -- get someone you trust to go with you if you decide giving them a ride anyway.
You shouldn't feel bad about the situation, though, especially if you are uncomfortable with it... moreover, you can help people in many other ways Pollyanna.

Taking them is fine.............you can get to know them a little better.......but agree you can't take them home afterwards.........then if you get to know them better perhaps you can join in with them next week.......that way you can have a night out and do a good turn........
but never feel bad about trusting your instincts...........
