um...............i have to disagree there...........but it shows that everyone is unique.....
i crave the vulnerability and the pain that comes with it......pain is a vastly under-rated emotion.......it makes you really feel alive when you can experience the lows of pain and the highs of joy........
being too level takes the passion out of life............

well that's just me anyway..........lol.........

See, the rocky relationship thing just isn't me.

There's always going to be disappointment and pain in life...I look at the other person in the relationship as an ally.

I think one person needs another person, be it a partner or a child...I see no problem in adoption. One can't be solitary and die happy.

Believe it or not so do i.............i don't see my soulmate as the opposition.........lol.....

But a certain volatility makes it exciting........and real somehow.......
i'll never be happy with a man who is always level...........it would feel artificial as though he was suppressing natural emotions............
I have a very very long fuse........and when it blows, it really blows......but 10 mins later it's forgotten........
People need to vent sometimes..............i'd want my relationship to be open enough to allow each other to have off days, but know it's not indicative of serious trouble..............

I think volatility is overrated and taught to an entire generation by relationships on TV.

Which brings up the question "How much does TV sculpt out morals?" I say whether or not a person thinks what they're seeing on TV is really how it is, and will live like that is left up the specific person. 1 person. That's why theres two people in a relationship (unless your from utah). A human needs to feel loved, but that's only part of a relationship. Compromise is important as well. If two people who are good at all the same things, feel the same way about everything, and are virtually equal in intelligence find their way to each other. That would be an EXTREMELY boring and monotonus relationship. Finding the right person is like finding your other half. . . that is, everything you are not.

Good relationships allow room for growth and compromise, and sometimes growth only comes with confrontation wich in turn reinforces the relationship and makes your bond with that other person harder to break.

if anything i feel it is underated................

and i agree with you Jimenem......i do think confrontation can be important to growth............but not just confronting your partner...........but confronting your own demons................

but i still think 'the one,' is the one who has the potential ability to rip your heart out and crucify you if they choose to but because they love you they don't............(and it'll work both ways...

.........)

It's the mutual respect which will keep you from destroying each other........
there will be an equal blance of power.......but the hint of danger will keep the spark lit........

And in times of vulnerability one person can hold the emotional reins and be strong enough for 2, they will take the others' hands and make them feel safe..........Safe enough to feel as though together they can face anything...................

lol......well that's my ideal anyway............lol............

You know, I've been in a few relationships. Enough, I guess, to have given a great deal of thought to what I want.

In my ideal relationship you try not to go to bed angry. I'm not saying someone has to be weak and the other strong. We all have our moments of both. But I don't want s "spark" of insecurity in a marriage. I don't want to think, this is exciting because he could leave me at anytime.

I want to feel, I can talk to him, respectfully about ANYTHING because he's my man.

And it's not:
"I want, I want I want"

Because I am totally ready to give the same kind of love in return.

i'm not disagreeing at all.............of course i want the security too.........but a spark of conflict for me keeps me on my toes and working at it.................

We are all different and crave different things.............it's what keeps life interesting....................

i just recognise certain traits in me that if i don't address i know will come back and bite me later...........and sometimes they can be a bit self destructive..............and sometimes a lot of fun..........

yeah in a perfect world, perfect life and perfect everything but we are only humans and I dont know how much you believe in God and such things like that but if we were all perfect the whole Adam and Eve thing would have gone a completely different direction and we would be perfect and there would be no pain...but I don't buy that you can live in a relationship with someone you completely trust, completely love and expect not to be hurt at some point...ya know i am sure it happens but not in my life and rock on to those who can find it...i ll believe it when it happens in mine

and thats all I am gonna say bout that

I HAVE to believe in it for it to happen.

We're just different, no one's right or wrong and life certainly shapes that...I mean, our outlook on things.

But I BELIEVE it can happen. And it's what I want.
