Went to see a private showing of an Artist near the beach,
it was so wonderful to see his paintings, he did them with his hands.
We asked him what he was feeling, when he did the paintings.
Not many people ask that question.
Alot of people think about what they feel, but not how the artist feels or
felt when they were drawing.
I believe alot of artists put how they feel on canvas.
Even sorrow can look beautiful, or anger = thought prevoking.
Some of the greatest artists may never be found yet perhaps with
email, technology etc. we can all share how they felt.

Seriously? Where else can you have a conversation like this without someone getting out of sorts and wedgiefied.

In europe I used to rush to every Munch exhibit. I loved the Scream and other paintings by him.

But, it seems that to be truly recognized as a fine artist, you HAD to have some reason for your art. People crave details about the artist
(Example: Jim Carrey).

Hence the old line "What's your motivation?"
One of the things I like best about Jim is his willingness to talk about his personal journey.

i confess i get so into my art that everything else pales.....i work extremely fast........and i literally give myself a workout because it's a hard physical medium (glass/stained glass)...........but don' t approach me when i'm doing it or i'll growl at you.............lol.........
it's like tunnel vision until i've achieved my objective.......and for me i really capture my mood, because i work so fast i don't lose the feelings i started with................
lol...........i'm a temperamental artist .............lol........
but my fav artists are Carravaggio, VanGogh, Dali and Turner.........awesome stuff........Dali's Crucifixion made me cry.....

I wrote this long post but then erased it, because it was too long and too bizarre, I will only say that it was about the limited range of frequency of human sight and sound...and how there may be other things going on in the universe at frequencies that we cannot perceive.....that is why space appears lifeless.....and how everything we percieve is only relative to our position and perception....the observer corrupts that which it observes....the full version is more than many people would care to endure.

And beliefs about the non-existence of time in outerspace.

no........that's interesting Michele.........the Obscure thread is the place to let it flow............
but i see where you're coming from.........perceptions differ.....and we all arrive with pre-conceptions and ideas which will influence our interpretations of things..............i guess that's what makes us all so unique.....it's the neurons in our head which create the physiological perceptions and our interpretations are based on so many different facets. For example language development............
anyway......i'm probably boring folk by now..............i could babble on for hours..............lol..but i won't..........lol
