Do you also get the driver's license and alcohol with 18 in England? If not, it is not that special for her, I think. Good, the thing with the alcohol is not very important, I don't drink often alcohol and you can also get it below 18 but the driver's license is a totally new aspect for life and very important in my opinion.

17 is the age for a driving license. I have one, but I haven't passed my test, it is just a provisional. I can drive, but not on my own.

18 is theage to get into pubs, and going into adulthood, so it is a special year.
