Hello!

Post by KOknockout »

Hi there! :D I just registered, so I figured I should introduce myself. My name's Kelly, and I'm 17 years old from Pennsylvania USA. I've been a fan of Jim ever since I was little, and my favorite Jim films are Dumb & Dumber, The Cable Guy, Ace Ventura, and The Mask. :)

The Cable Guy is such a classic Jim film, huh? I love it too.

Definately. I just got the DVD about two weeks ago, and I think I've watched it 5 or 6 times already. Before that I had the VHS, but I didn't really watch it that much. I didn't really like it when I first saw it, but after getting the DVD and watching again after not seeing it for at least two or three years, I realized how funny it was. The one thing about the movie that I did like after watching it for the first time was the karaoke scene. I got the soundtrack for Christmas, and I would put Somebody To Love on repeat cause I loved it so much. :P I can't believe I didn't find the movie that funny before. The best part of the movie for me is when Steven has the nightmare about Chip and he has those yellow contacts in and keeps trying to ram the door. But the best part is when he breaks through the door and says, "I just wanna hang out, NO BIG DEAL!" Classic.

When I first saw it, I liked it but I didn't love it. I saw it again much later and laughed all the way through. Sometimes it takes a little while for you to fully appreciate a classic. I love the dark humour of The Cable Guy. Really liked the 'mini-epiphany' moment too at the end where he says "Somebody's gotta kill the babysitter" before falling. I remember thinking 'Whoah, good point!' at the time.

Yeah, I also like when Steven tells him that everybody gets lonely and he goes, "Yeah, but I get really lonely. I mean look at me, come on!"
